Hear perspectives from Jewish and Indigenous speakers. Anti Zionism is the new antisemitism and a major tenet is the charge of settler colonialism against Israel along with charges of apartheid and genocide – all false. As a major challenge in our universities it has captured academics and our next generation of leaders.

NEW SCHOOLS ANTISEMITISM PAGE ON IFII WEBSITE
Photo of the launch of the Schools Antisemitism Education Project in July 2025 with Rabbi Ari Rubin, the Nehl family and Norman and Barbara Miller at the Munganbana Aboriginal Art Gallery Cairns.
There is now a dedicated page on our website to this project which has been going just over a year and we have 3 units ready to roll out across Australia – Grade 1 and 2, Grade 3 and 4 and Grade 5 and 6. Positive reviews are coming in from teachers and we are approaching schools to pilot the units in term 1 next year. Are you a teacher or parent who is interested? Please contact us.
The Nazis shatter glass and shatter the lives of European Jews at Kristallnacht, the start of the Holocaust. An Australian Aboriginal, William Cooper, leads the campaign for civil rights for his people who are dying of poverty and mistreatment around him. 1938; two worlds, far apart. Cut to the core after Kristallnacht, can he do anything to stop it?
Described as Australia’s Martin Luther King, Cooper leads the Australian Aborigines’ League on a protest to the German Consulate in Melbourne. Would the Third Reich pour out its wrath on them? Would they make a difference?
A Chair of Resistance to the Holocaust was named in honour of Cooper at Yad Vashem. His grandson, Alf Turner, becomes passionate about fulfilling his grandfather’s unfinished business and taking the protest to Berlin itself. How will he be received?
This true story will inspire you to stand up and be counted and to make a difference.

Our expert curriculum writer Shoshana Linnane has developed 10-week modules for Grades 1-2 and 5-6. These lessons use the story of a 7-year-old Jewish refugee girl from the kindertransport during World War II to help children understand what it means to be displaced, excluded, or vulnerable. The modules foster empathy, compassion, and respect for diversity through activities like art, music, and drama, and align with the national curriculum. We want all children to grow up in safe, inclusive communities where they learn to treat others fairly and without discrimination.
If you believe in building a future where every child feels valued and racism has no place, please consider supporting our fundraiser. Even a small contribution or sharing this opportunity to help would make a difference.
Please get involved! We need your help!
We would love to connect with you and help you support Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East, working against calls for its destruction and the genocide of its people. These calls are advancing at great pace since October 7. Indigenous Friends of Israel formed in July 2017 because of concerns over Australia’s policy towards Israel. Since then we have gone international as antisemitism is international and isan ancient hatred. The forces standing against Israel also oppose Western and/or Judeo-Christian values which have helped us achieve a society with social cohesion and the rule of law.
Please help us take a stand against antisemitism, and for a community where all are valued and safe. There are many opportunities to use your passion, gifting and skills as avolunteer whether you are a person of faith or not. United we stand and divided we fall. Please complete the form to volunteer.
Are you good at creating or sharing social media, fundraising, administration, film and video making, government advocacy, newsletters, speaking, representing a geographical area, organising zoom meetings or do you have other giftings or talents that you can use to bless the Lord, the Jewish people, and Israel. It doesn’t matter where you live in the world, you can get involved. Check it out here.

We want to thank Canberra Declaration and those who helped sponsor our trip. You share in the fruits of our work. We will be on Canberra Declaration Monday night 17/11/25 to give thanks, a report and pray. King David established this rule in 1 Samuel 30:24 “Who will listen to what you say? The share (reward) of the man who stayed with the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle. All will share alike.”
We also thank the Lord for the opportunity to comfort His people as in Isaiah 40:1 “Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.”
and Isaiah 40: 9 “You who bring good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who bring good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with a shout, lift it up, do not be afraid; say to the towns of Judah, ‘Here is your God!'”
Israel has been isolated and unjustly made a pariah on the world stage. Hamas and Gazans committed the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust on October 7 2023 – the burning of babies, the raping of women in the most barbaric manner, the killing of children in front of their parents, the murder and torture of parents in front of their children, and the kidnapping of babies and the elderly including Holocaust survivors. Those hostages have been starved and abused and kept in Gazan tunnels and forced to dig their own graves. Israel was vilified before it even retaliated. Note the protests at the Sydney Opera House on October 9, 2023.
The people of Israel have been vilified. Israel has had to face the charge of genocide from the UN for defending itself, has been taken to the International Court of Justice and delegates walked out on Prime Minister Netanyahu at the United Nations. Hamas has won the propaganda war by using civilians as human shields and using hospitals, schools, residential areas, mosques and even the UN offices as Hamas headquarters. If Israel wanted to commit genocide, the war would have been over in a week instead of 2 years. Israel warns civilians and provides safe routes to relocate from the war zones. Hamas tries to prevent Gazans from escaping harm. Israel is also one of the most ethical nations worldwide and is the only democracy in the Middle East. It is defending western values.
So, what can we do? Apart from providing advocacy and running a school and a public education program, we at Indigenous Friends of Israel International provide comfort for Jewish people who are feeling under attack, isolated and fearful. We also provide support to the Jewish state and people of Israel via two projects:
The presentation of a big boomerang made and painted by Munganbana Norman Miller personally to the state of Israel in Jerusalem in November 2025.
The presentation by Norman Miller to the government of Israel of A Declaration of Solidarity with Israel from the Indigenous and Diverse Communities of the Pacific Rim. It can be found here https://indigenousfriendsofisrael.org/sign-the-declaration/
Provide Indigenous representation from Australia at the Indigenous Embassy Jerusalem events in November 2025
Whether you support the government of Israel or all its actions is not the issue. The issue is this is an existential battle for the survival of the Jewish state with Hamas, which still has a lot of support in Gaza, vowing to do October 7 over and over again till the state of Israel is eliminated “from the river to the sea” and all Jews in Israel killed or removed. We must stand with and provide comfort and support to Israel and its people at this critical time.
The Indigenous Embassy Jerusalem is held meetings in Jerusalem 4-5 November 2025 and there Indigenous people attended from around the world. So, this was perfect timing for Indigenous people worldwide to express support for Israel and its people.
Imagine how heartening it was for Israelis to find that Indigenous people have their arms wrapped around them with these gifts of the boomerang and the Declaration and the message that we care. You are not alone.
Ps Munganbana Norman took the opportunity to apologise for the hostile attitude of the Australian government towards Israel and assure the Minister of the Knesset that there were many Indigenous people and many Christians who support Israel.
Holding the boomerang and declarations – Barbara and Norman Miller, Deputy Foreign Minister of Israel Hon Sharren Haskel, Dr Sheree Trotter, co-founder of Indigenous Embassy Jerusalem, Debra Harding-Morris and David Morris. Norman presented a declaration of support for Israel from Indigenous People of the Pacific Rim and Debra presented a declaration on behalf of One New Man Council Australia. Both declarations were framed.
WHAT IS MEANING OF ARTWORK ON BOOMERANG?
Aboriginal pastor and artist Munganbana Norman Miller issued a press release on 31/10/25 before the boomerang was gifted to the Israel government and again afterwards. J-Wire and Australian Jewish News printed them and in the first one, Munganbana Norman explains the meaning of the painting:
“We want to say we care. You are the Indigenous people of Israel and you are our family. I have Jewish and Aboriginal designs on the boomerang with the Star of David in the centre. This is the meaning of the painting on the boomerang:
“This boomerang represents Indigenous peoples with earthy colours surrounding Israel, represented in the centre by the Star of David, in love, protection and blessing. Dot painting is often used in Australian Aboriginal art and it also represents here “the islands will look to Me” (Isaiah 60:9) signifying the remotest parts of the earth bringing honour to the Jewish people. We want to say with this boomerang that no matter what the world says, ‘we care and we stand with you. You are not alone.’ We honour the spiritual fathers and mothers of the land of Israel, our spiritual home.
We recognise you as Indigenous to the land of Israel just as we Indigenous people are Indigenous to our lands. Boomerangs were weapons for hunting and warfare and so this boomerang signals that we will fight for you to keep the land from the river Jordan to the Mediterranean Sea that Hashem ordained for you.
There is a scripture on the left of the boomerang Amos 9:11-15 because Hashem restored Israel, the tabernacle of David and Israel will never again be uprooted from the land Hashem gave you. On the right side is Psalm 122. Not only do we pray for the peace of Jerusalem and say peace be within you but our feet are glad to stand in the gates of Jerusalem and our tribes of the nations join the tribes of Israel and go up to worship Hashem.”
Many wonderful speakers at NAIN Canberra event including Warren Nyunggai Mundine and Mike Kelly. Supporters attended despite the rain. Thanks to organisers for their hard work.
A very touching event organised by the Israel Embassy at the ACT Jewish Community Centre Oct 26 to remember Oct 7. Lett to right – Ambassador His Excellency Amir Maimon, Jewish community members including Alan Shroot on right, Deborah O’Neill and Dave Sharma of the Parliamentary Friends of Israel lighting candles after speaking as did all the speakers. Beautiful songs and touching video for the occasion. We will miss Ambassador Amir whose term is coming to an end. It has been a tough time for an Israeli ambassador in Australia with an Australian government continually criticizing Israel.
As well attending this event, we attended an event organised by NAIN at the ACT Jewish Centre the following night with excellent speakers – Mike Kelly, Alan Shroot and Dave Sharma.
We were pleased to attend the Indigenous Embassy Jerusalem events in Israel and are gathered here with First Nations people from Canada, Alaska, Australia and NZ with organiser Dr Sheree Trotter on the left. After some drumming and dancing, the march went to the Western Wall. We were joined by Emeritus Professor Wayne Horowitz and some other Israelis.
First Nations shared with our group at the Kotel or Western Wall. Then Barbara went to the wall to pray. Norman talked to the IDF. Photo here of Shelly, Ina, Norman, Barbara and Loretta Glanville from the Torres Strait and a local Israeli with the boomerang. Loretta gave a wonderful talk at the Academic Symposium.
There were excellent presentations by all the speakers with Dr Michael Wechsler giving an excellent talk on settler colonialism and the Palestine question and Dr Charles Small an excellent talk on combatting antisemitism for example. Photo – Nova Peris OAM OLY, an Aboriginal Australian received a standing ovation and is pictured here with co-organiser and speaker Dr Sheree Trotter. Emerituis Professor Wayne Horowitz, co-organiser also spoke with both he and Sheree giving excellent presentations.
Professor Gillian Gould from Australia spoke of her upcoming book on Indigenous and Jewish collaboration which will feature Norman Miller and international examples. All presentations will be available on the Indigenous Embassy Jerusalem website.
Left- We travelled to an army base where two First Nations bands (Alaska and Canada) did a combined performance of drumming, dancing and singing to guitars and drums. The bands were Broken Walls and Okama. Melodie Greyeyes, pictured here, was the group leader and one of the dancers. This was the same group that joined the Indigenous Embassy Jerusalem in a march from the Jaffa Gate to the Kotel.
They did an engaging show and Norman and I were able to share briefly. I had a dream the night before I should share about William Cooper, an Australian Aboriginal who led a protest against Kristallnacht in 1938 while his people were still not citizens and couldn’t vote so I did. I also shared about the Australian Lighthorse and the ANZACS, including Indigenous soldiers, whose blood was shed in the soil of Israel to help bring freedom to the Jewish people.
Right – Ps Avi Mizrachi and Barbara at Alfie Menashe in Samaria. Avi and Chaya Mizrachi showed us, and a visiting rabbi and his wife from the USA, around and we had an enjoyable meal together at Kfar Sava before going to their wonderful congregational service in Tel Aviv – Dugit.
We travelled along Route 232 which runs the length of the Gaza border, connecting the kibbutzim along the Strip and then crossing into Sderot. It is the road Hamas and Islamic Jihad used on Oct 7 to slaughter Israelis including those fleeing. It is a tale of horror with shelters along the road as memorials to those killed in shelters like the one on the left at Kfar Aza where burnt out candles cover the floor and faces and tributes to the dead cover the walls.
The picture on the right is a memorial at Kfar Aza with the names of those killed on each side of the pebble path. 78 people were killed here and 19 kidnapped. It was heart-breaking. Yellow flags have been erected along the road.
Kibbutz Be’eri was attacked also with 136 killed and 32 kidnapped. The Israelis are living behind barbed wire but Hamas cut the fence to attack them. Many houses were burnt or damaged and still need repair. JNF planted a forest there after the massacre of Oct 7. We lost our son unexpectedly on Jan 27 2024, International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Trudi Arnold on behalf of NAIN Sydney planted a tree for our son Michael and for Norman and I as well and it happened to be in this forest. It was a great comfort to know that when we had his funeral. So we prayed on site for our son and for the unspeakable loss of life that Israelis and some from other nations suffered on Oct 7.
We were hesitant to take photos at the Nova Music Festival site as it is the site of such a horrific massacre of Oct 7 so we didn’t take many. However an army commander we met at Kfar Aza showing the memorial sites to his family was touched that we cared and asked us to follow him. HIs family said they were touched also and Norman gave him a hug. We followed them to Be’eri and then had to visit the forest so didn’t follow him to Nova.
The Nova site has become a national memorial and there were a large number of Israelis there paying their respects. Families have built touching and elaborate memorials. The tribute to his young man from his family was especially touching.
We then went on to Ashkelon with our hosts Chaya, Arik and OrEl and then onto the airport for our trip home being met by Avi to be waved off. We thank them greatly for the special time we had with them.
A Declaration of Solidarity with Israel from the Indigenous and Diverse Communities of the Pacific Rim
Note – Though this declaration has been given to the Israel government, we are still collecting signatures so please forward this to Indigenous people and groups to sign.
We recognize the Jewish people as the Indigenous stewards of the land of Israel, their ancestral homeland, where their history, culture, and spiritual legacy have been rooted for millennia. This indigeneity resonates deeply with our own connections to land, tradition, and resilience, forging a sacred bond between our communities and the Jewish people. We honor Israel not only as a homeland but as a beacon of morality, kindness, and grace—a nation that exemplifies the highest standards of humanity in the face of unparalleled challenges.
Indigenous peoples of the Pacific Rim not only have a shared indigeneity with Jewish people but the shared experience of tribal societies, close family relations, attachment to land and closeness to nature. We also have shared experiences of colonisation, dispersion, ethnic cleansing, persecution, discrimination, marginalisation, trauma and the need for resilience.
Despite this, our cultures and spirituality remain strong. We applaud the Jewish people that they have been able to retain their religion and culture, revive their language and decolonise their land with the rebirth of the state of Israel in 1948 forming the only democracy in the Middle East. BOOMERANG FOR PM NETANYAHU
You can just see the scripture on the left of the boomerang of Amos 9:11-15 and on the right of Psalm 122. These will be made bolder. Our congregation is called the Tabernacle of David and we believe in the restoration of the Tabernacle of David, the throne of David on which Messiah Jesus will sit and the restoration of Israel and Jerusalem to the Jewish people for eternity so that Bible prophecy and God’s plan can be fulfilled.
Netanyahu’s speech to the United Nations in 2013 included verses from Amos 9. He said: “In our time the Biblical prophecies are being realized. As the prophet Amos said, they shall rebuild ruined cities and inhabit them. They shall plant vineyards and drink their wine. They shall till gardens and eat their fruit. And I will plant them upon their soil never to be uprooted again. Ladies and gentlemen, the people of Israel have come home never to be uprooted again.” —Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu
The quotation above is how Benjamin Netanyahu concluded his speech on October 1, 2013 at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Netanyahu’s speech was a warning to the world re Iran’s nuclear weapons. We think he will appreciate this scripture being on the boomerang gifted to him. You can be a part of that by helping us get there.
Psalm 122 tells us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and Psalm 122:2-4 says”
2 Our feet are standing in your gates, Jerusalem.
3 Jerusalem is built like a city that is closely compacted together. 4 That is where the tribes go up— the tribes of the Lord— to praise the name of the LordMay the tribes of the nations as well as the tribes of Israel praise the name of the Lord and have their feet standing in its gates.
We have timed our visit for the Indigenous Embassy Jerusalem which we support and hoped to attend anyway on 3-4 Nov. This means that Indigenous representatives can sign the Declaration and form a delegation to present the Declaration and the boomerang with Munganbana Norman.
We give God the glory for His hand on Israel, the apple of His eye and we pray for the harvest of souls for the kingdom of God all over the Middle East. The day the hostages were returned, Oct 13, is the Jewish festival of Hoshana Rabbah which means the great Hoshana with hoshana meaning SAVE NOW.” How prophetic was that?
We welcome home all living hostages to the loving arms of their families who have fought so hard for their release. We pray that the bodies of those killed by Hamas and other Gazans will all be released soon. It will be painful for their families but at least they will have some closure. We pray healing and comfort.
To all those who fought in the IDF we say thanks for preserving the beloved nation Israel, and to those whose families did not see their loved ones return alive, our love and comfort extends to you and to those wounded. May your recovery be speedy.
To the brave Israelis and the Jewish diaspora worldwide including Australia, who have suffered so much also, we also extend our love and say you are not alone. We stand with you.
May this ceasefire, fragile though it is, hold, and bring a long peace. May Gazans turn from their anti-Israel anti-Jewish hate and build a healthy, peaceful, prosperous society.
HOSTAGE FAMILIES VISIT AUSTRALIA NOV 2023
Norman and Barbara joined a rally in support of the hostage families who visited Australia. This photo was at Bondi Beach, Sydney 30.11.23. They also attended a rally in support of the hostages at the visit of the families to Parliament House Canberra. Barbara was also invited to light candles with the families of the hostages at an event at the Central Synagogue Sydney.
There were moving scenes at Hostage Square in Tel Aviv as the 20 living hostages were released. The massacre occurred on the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah on Oct 7, a time of joy turned into tragedy. Amazingly, they were returned on Oct 13, the last day of Sukkot, also called Hoshana Rabbah which turned into Simchat Torah at sundown. Israel can rejoice again through its tears.
There were moving speeches at the Knesset on Oct 13 as well with President Trump and his team in attendance. Prime Minister Netanyahu used this quote from Jeremiah 31:16-17: This is what the Lord says:
“Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded,” declares the Lord. “They will return from the land of the enemy. So there is hope for your descendants,” declares the Lord.
We are mindful however, that there can be false peace and Israel features in end-time battles.

SUCCESSFUL MEETINGS WITH EDUCATION AUTHORITIES
We have engaged recently with the Dor Foundation and the staff of Australia’s Special Envoy to Combat Antisemitism who are both very interested in our education program to combat antisemitism so we will be working with them in future.
Norman and Barbara have have continued to have a number of successful meetings with state and commonwealth education authorities over our School Antisemitism Education Project. We are in the process of discussions with a number of schools as well.
So please if you know any primary schools that would be interested in becoming part of a pilot program to test it before it gets rolled out nationally, please let us know. Also, if you know of any funding options, please let us know as we are all working voluntarily including our expert curriculum writer Shoshana Linnane.

We have some exciting news in that Pastor Norman plans to hand the Declaration (which is the topic of this zoom seminar) personally to Prime Minister Netanyahu in Jerusalem if it can be arranged. He plans to also gift him an extra large boomerang which will have Australian Aboriginal and Israeli motifs on it, in a separate project, to Netanyahu at the same time. If you can help with finances for this project, it would be much appreciated. We hope to time it for the Indigenous Embassy Jerusalem meeting in Jerusalem 4-5 Nov 2025.
The zoom shown here is Part 2 of 29.9.25 AEST because the recording stopped after 10mins and was turned on again, meaning we have Part 1 and Part 2.
Speakers Norman Miller, Aboriginal Australian, Co-founder of Indigenous Friends of Israel International Foundation, Dr Isaac Balbin, President Lions of Zion for 29.9.25 AEST with many wonderful commentators.
Norman and Isaac also spoke at North American zoom session joined by Ps Charles Huang, Taiwanese-American, Founder & CEO of Roots and Branches International. Commentary by Nyunggai Warren Mundine, Australian Aboriginal businessman and Chair CPAC. This is the LINK.

26 OCTOBER — NATIONAL RALLY Australians Against Antisemitism 📍 Across the Nation – Stand United! 💙✡ One People. One Voice. No Hate.
A Declaration of Solidarity with Israel from the Indigenous and Diverse Communities of the Pacific Rim
See more https://indigenousfriendsofisrael.org/sign-the-declaration/
Gofundme for Schools Antisemitism Education
There is currently no dedicated, age-appropriate antisemitism education in Australian primary schools—only optional anti racism or holocaust or multicultural education. Please help us while we continue to develop this and work on its implementaton. See HERE
Our expert curriculum writer Shoshana Linnane has developed 10-week modules for Grades 1-2 and 5-6.
Sharri Markson, Sky News and Alex Ryvchin, ECAJ at Anitsemitism Summit
Plot Foiled: Antisemitism Summit a Success
By Barbara Miller, Co-founder Indigenous Friends of Israel International
Haman’s plot to kill all the Jews in the known world was foiled by Queen Esther and Mordecai. We will be commemorating that at Purim soon. The plot by Hamas, Hezbollah and Houthis, proxies of Iran has been foiled. Sadly, there have been tragic losses along the way, including the Bibas family, which has left Jewish people and their friends worldwide hurting.
I believe that what we saw at the Antisemitism Summit at the Central Synagogue hosted by Sharri Markson of Sky News and Alex Ryvchin, co-CEO of ECAJ, on 20.2.25 was an opportunity to strategize to foil the evil plot of those who would wipe out Australian Jews as well.
Make no mistake about it. There is a genocidal intent behind some of these perpetrators of antisemitism in Australia and we saw that with the Bankstown nurses rant that they would kill Jews and have killed Jews. Most Muslim organisations in Australia have supported rather than condemned them. The nurses have lost their jobs but not yet been charged.
Sharri Markson said we must not accept antisemitism as “our new reality.”
Current and former political leaders such as Peter Dutton, Chris Minns, Mark Dreyfus and John Howard, law enforcement chiefs, national security experts, legal experts, Jewish community leaders, Holocaust survivors, and Ambassador of the State of Israel to Australia, Amir Maimon came together as a stellar cast of speakers.
Indigenous Friends of Israel International Zoom Antisemitism Schools Education Program 17 2 25
SOME EXCERPTS FROM BARBARA’S TALK ON ZOOM ABOVE
… So, what are we teaching in our schools? There is a Teachers for Palestine group who are festering hatred of Jews in our schools and wearing keffiyehs. This is the tip of the iceberg and is intimidating to Jewish teachers and students not to mention what they might be teaching in the classroom.
Jewish children need security guards at their schools and are frightened to wear their uniforms to school. Jewish university students and lecturers have been terrorized on campuses and two universities have established safe spaces for them. Many of these students now learn online from home.
We have a NSW based Nurses and Midwives 4 Palestine group who have members actively chanting the genocidal chant “From the River to the Sea” in the workplace and in uniform, often wearing pro-Palestinian badges on their uniforms. The latest was the horrifying incident of two nurses at Bankstown hospital threatening to not treat and even kill Israeli Jewish patients and saying they had already done so. So far, they have not been charged. This is frightening for Jewish people who need to know they can be treated safely in hospitals …
WHAT YOU CAN DO AND WHAT NEXT? You can help by getting the word out, praying if you are a person of prayer, providing funding, finding teachers and schools who may be interested in piloting the program, and calling out antisemitism in schools.
This is not the only example I can give but Dr Randa Abdel Fattah of Macquarie University has a $1.8 million research grant. She focuses on Islamophobia, critical race theory, Palestine, the war on terror and Arab and Muslim activism.
She took a group of children onto Sydney University and had them chanting jihad. Randa created Australia’s first early-reader book series on diversity and anti-racism. The series is called Our Stories and the 4 books in the series by diverse writers and illustrators, including Randa’s The Very Best Doughnut were shortlisted for the DANZ 2024 book award.
This is very concerning. We need to read what our children are exposed to and call out what is not appropriate. We need to find or develop readers for our children that won’t be divisive, that will encourage social cohesion, that will encourage us to be proud to be Australian and treat all our citizens well and respectfully. We need to help our teachers with units and resources that will enable them to do their jobs well in bringing the next generation through our school system. These children will be our future leaders. We need to guide them to be happy, compassionate, tolerant members of our society.

RELAUNCH OF AUSTRALIA ISRAEL ALLIES CAUCUS 12.2.25
We were pleased to be invited to the relaunch of the Australia Israel Allies Caucus at Parliament House Canberra on 12.2.25. 25 MPs came in and out of the launch as they could with their commitments as parliament was sitting. Andrew Wallace is the Chair and Rabbi Riesenberg is the founding rabbi. Andrew Wallace, John Lockwood, Rabbi Riesenberg and Ambassador Amir Maimon spoke.
John Lockwood said the Israel Allies Foundation Australasia, of which he is Chair, had been formed to support the Caucus. He mentioned the Indigenous Friends of Israel International school antisemitism program. Senator Sarah Henderson, Opposition Minister for Education, told us at the end of the meeting that she had been briefed on our education program by her advisor and was supportive. David Jack of SCAFI was behind the video as was media. This photo only has some of the participants of the event including the Millers.
The previous leaders of the Caucus were former MPs Eric Abetz followed by Stuart Robert. Rabbi Riesenberg gave a very moving address of how his synagogue in Melbourne had been attacked by pro-Palestinian activists.
The night before, we were blessed to listen to Stan Goodenough speak at the ACT Jewish Community Centre about the dangers of the two-state solution for the survival of Israel especially when the Palestinians only want a one-state solution with the eradication of Israel and the Jewish people.

Faith Hope and Growth by Ps Barbara Miller at Lifestream Church Canberra 8.12.24
An anointing of compassion and healing was poured out by the Lord. We thank the Lord because we have had a 20 year relationship with Lifestream church and its former name since Ps Renton McCrae was on our Pastors Reference Group when we hosted our first Psalm 24:7 conference in Parliament House Canberra in 2004. We do appreciate the elders especially Peter and Kim Taylor who have been a huge blessing over the years. I remember when Lou Engle from the USA came into our conference there was such an anointing with our Tabernacle of David worship team pumping and Jacqueline, Kim and Irwin’s warfare dancing, he couldn’t get over the anointing.
In fact it was wonderful to catch up with so many friends in Canberra including Glen Sebasio, Jacqueline and Derek Bedson and Ps Irwin and Jill Ross. Also Shoshana and Rod Linnane who travelled from Brisbane. Shoshana is working with us on our school education project.
VICTORIAN GOVT PROMISES ACTION 16.12.24
The statement we gave to the Victorian government with 4 practical measures which they and state governments can take to deal with antisemitism may have had an effect on the measures announced today by the Premier which are similar.
Amazingly the statement was given to the Victorian government on Dec 6, the day of the firebombing of Adass Israel synagogue in Melbourne and the 86th anniversary of William Cooper and the Australian Aborigines’ League protest about Kristallnacht where synagogues in Europe were burned and their glass shattered.
Norman and I outlined 7 measures the federal government could take on the same day (Dec 6) outside Parliament House Canberra.
When we released a press statement in Cairns on Dec 10, we increased this to 16 measures state and federal governments could take re Australian antisemitism and its anti-Israel stance. Read the statement and press releases below.

UNITED WITH WILLIAM COOPER EVENT MELBOURNE DEC 6
Barbara was pleased to be on the team along with David Jack and Steve Green of SCAFI and Sarah Way of ICEJ and some members of the Jewish community who organised the United with William Cooper event in Melbourne on Dec 6, the anniversary of Cooper and the Australian Aborigines’ League protest of Kristallnacht to the German Consulate in Melbourne. Wonderful messages were given by rabbis and ministers. After messages at the East Melbourne synagogue, they proceeded to the Victorian parliament to present a Social Cohesion statement to the Premier’s representative.
Barbara wrote the statement, with a paragraph updated by Alice Young of William Cooper’s family, sections were read by Alice, other Aboriginal people present, Michael Pearce, the Hon Consul for Germany and Ps Dale Stephenson. The statement was presented to Nick Staicos, the Parliamentary Secretary for Multicultural Affairs, on the steps of the parliament. It was on a background of Norman’s painting and was presented by Michael McDonogh, the great grandson of William Cooper. Many Christian organisations had endorsed it with their logos but a copy without logos was presented. It is planned to later present it to the Governor.
Alice and her friends did a dance to Ngarra Burra Ferra on the steps of Parliament House which was very moving. I have a recent article on this song and the amazing William Cooper story. SEE HERE
This followed another Dec 6 event and flag raising ceremony at the Beth Weizmann Centre organised by the Zionist Federation of Australia (ZFA) to which former senator Nova Peris, Michael McDonogh and Raymond Finn spoke stirring messages before coming to the East Melbourne synagogue event and speaking there.
This is the statement presented to the Victorian government

ISRAEL & GERMAN EMBASSIES HONOUR WILLIAM COOPER DEC 6
It was an honour for Norman to do the Acknowledgement of Country at the Israel Embassy in Canberra where the Israel and German embassies honoured William Cooper with a plaque on Dec 6, the 86th anniversary of the protest he led to the German Consulate in Melbourne re Kristallnacht. Leonie Drummond, great granddaughter of William Cooper, was one of the speakers. Barbara was pleased to be involved in advising on the preparations on the event at the embassy as William Cooper’s biographer. Cooper family member John Higgins and his wife Yvonne were also present as was David Jack behind the camera and Abe Schwarz who has done so much for the legacy of William Cooper.
Many embassies attended the event as did press but it was overshadowed press wise by the shocking firebombing of the Adass Israel synagogue in Melbourne on the same morning.
Nevertheless, it was a historic event as Germany is now one of Israel’s best supporters and the two embassies have an adjoining fence on which they will put the plaque in an event they cohosted. Norman did a prophetic act with the Acknowledgement of Country by joining the 2 clapsticks together as in Ezekiel 37:15 declaring that Israel and Germany are one and the Aboriginal and Jewish people are one. He also played the didjeridoo. We thank Glen Sebasio for making the clapsticks which Norman stayed up the night before and painted. As well as Aboriginal designs, he put a star of David on each clapstick and presented them to Ambassador Amir Maimon.
Barbara presented her book “Shattered Lives Broken Dreams” to the German ambassador while Norman presented her with a book of photographs of William Cooper and his legacy made by David Jack.
Left- Norman doing Acknowledgement of Country at Celebrating Israel Sydney Dec 2 Right- Celebrating Israel host Dahlia Ayalon Sinclair and Millers with Rob and Suzie Schneider, Emmanuel Synagogue, Woollahra. It was the 20th time Dahlia organised this yearly event which commemorates the historic UN resolution 181 of 1947 to partition the British Mandate into 2 states, a Jewish state and an Arab state.
The Jews accepted it and the Arabs rejected it. They were not called Palestinians at that time. The role of Doc Evatt and Australia in facilitating that resolution was commended. Following this resolution, the modern state of Israel was proclaimed in May 1948. The beginning Norman’s message was not videod, but he acknowledged Hashem, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel first. Most of his message can be seen here, CLICK HERE
It was an enjoyable event with a reenactment of the historic UN vote, good speeches, dance and song.

THREE SYNAGOGUE VISITS
We visited Emmanuel Synagogue on Dec 2 for the Celebrating Israel event atWoollahra which was peaceful though it was in between 2 terrorist events Nov 21 and Dec 11 which we have publicly condemned.
We also met with the President of the Great Synagogue on Dec 4. He told us that they had an event that night and knew there would be anti-Israel protestors and Nova Peris was speaking. What he didn’t know is that things would get so bad that those who attended were locked inside the synagogue for 3 hours, fearful of leaving because of the threatening demonstration. We had already gone to the Aboriginal church by then and were not present when this happening. The intimidation the Jewish community is facing is sickening.
In Canberra, we were blessed to attend the synagogue service on Saturday Dec 7 and have lunch at the home of Dr Alan and Anita Shroot afterwards, along with Robert Cussel and Jane and Tim O’Neill. It was a blessed time.
We had precious time with Jewish friends in Sydney over coffee, lunch, dinner and the Jewish film festival.

PUBLIC RELATIONS CAMPAIGN AGAINST ANTISEMITISM AND ANTI-ISRAEL BIAS
Our Public Relations Campaign is underway though the Gofundme campaign to support it is very slow to gain momentum. We don’t have any paid staff and have limited funds. Please help spread the word about it, donate yourself no matter how small, and volunteer. We are pleased an experienced curriculum writer is looking at the Queensland schools curriculum for us to see where we can get an inroad and will help us prepare materials.
Barbara has already written a training manual for adults and upper secondary with activities. We have met with the Executive Council of Australian Jewry which is a peak body for Australian Jews and they have asked to partner with us which is great.
We are continuing with our monthly zoom seminar series and daily social media reaching out worldwide to counter lies re current events and history.
Adam Kreuzer who is Education Officer for the Australian Jewish Association is writing regular articles for our website and we have been working for a couple of years with Eli Rabinowitz of the WE ARE HERE Foundation in Perth as he is an educator.
