He was standing up for life as in Qld, the government has made it legal to have abortions for any reason up to the birth of a child and if an aborted child manages to live, it is left to die. Also, the government campaigned on rushing through voluntary assisted dying legislation before waiting for the Law Reform Commission to make its recommendations on legislation next March.
Youth suicide is at crisis levels including Indigenous youth suicide. Also, the Qld government has had a record of putting youth in adult jails and treating them poorly.
The word of God urges us to choose life not death. Deut 30:15-16, 19-20 – “See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction.”
The Lord impressed on Barbara in prayer recently that life and death are in the balance. He wants us to choose life. Yet we see around us mothers killing their unborn babies and saying they have the right to choose. They are “pro-choice” not “pro-life.” The precious gift of life God has given them is rejected and they will pay the price. We see families sick of waiting for elderly parents to die and looking to hasten their death through euthanasia.
There is a huge gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians when it comes to infant mortality, life expectancy and suicide, including child and youth suicide. Many of these children and youth have been sexually or physically abused and neglected. There is a hopelessness that can affect Aboriginal communities with people constantly going to funerals.
Yet our society seems to not want to know about these things or to have seared consciences (1 Tim 4:1-2). There is a lack of compassion and morality. This comes from a society divorced from Jesus who is Life personified. He said He is the way, the truth and the life. (John 14:6). Our nation needs Jesus, revival and transformation.
Prophet Isaiah says 5:20 “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!”
Many seem to have made a covenant with death (Isaiah 28:18). We will not cheat death ourselves by making a bargain with it and allowing it to run rampant in our nation. We need to cancel any agreement we have made with death and pray others will also. Barbara’s prayer is on the Canberra Declaration website.
We have 3 highlight DVDs available on our 2010 Israel trip. Pastor Barbara Miller delivers an inspiring message for the 2020 anniversary of the 31 Oct 1917 charge where the Australian Light horsemen rode into history and turned the tide of history following the Rider on the white horse of Revelation. The breakthrough at Be’er-Sheva by Allied forces including the ANZACS led to the opening of the way to Jerusalem and the end of the 400-year rule by the Ottoman Islamic empire. It paved the way for the re-formation of the nation of Israel in 1948, fulfilling Bible prophecy. We do not want to see the death caused by war but we honour the sacrifice of those who gave their lives so that we could have peace.
The National Solemn Assemblywas an important time where the nation of Australia came to prayer, led by Indigenous leaders. Ps Peter and Maria Walker were the Indigenous hosts assisted by Indigenous pastors Ps Tim and Di Edwards and it was facilitated by the Canberra Declaration team of Ps Warwick & Alison Marsh, Ps Kym Farnik, Kurt Mahlburg and others. It was supported by the National Council of Churches.
What was particularly significant was that it was held during the 10 Days of Awe leading up to Yom Kippur and through Yom Kippur, a time of repentance on the Biblical calendar. Norman and Barbara had an opportunity to pray and lead communion along with other leaders.

It was good to have international prayer support for the National Solemn Assembly and thanks to Ps Melissa Haigh and Gloria Watkins and AHOP for organising prayer covering. The Canberra Declaration followed this up with the month of October praying for life. This has been important with some state governments bringing in abortion to birth and euthanasia. Also, there are high rates of Indigenous suicide and youth suicide generally. There have been many key leaders, including Indigenous leaders, providing daily prayer points and scriptures. We were blessed to be speakers at Feast of Tabernacles or Sukkothosted by Ps Jack Yeo of Emmanual Blessings Centre. The main speaker was Apostle George Annadorai who gave a powerful message about Jesus judging the nations as sheep or goat nations (Mat 25) based on their treatment of Israel.
Dr Annadorai later hosted an event Shemini Atzeret on the 8th day of the Feast where Christians from most nations from the Pacific through Asia through the Middle East stood as sheep nations and repented if their nation was anti-Israel. We stood in the gap for Australia. Our congregation met while this was happening and Judy Miller heard the shofar blowing in the heavenlies and Shirley Miller heard trumpets blowing in the heavenlies. Colleen Burfitt heard and saw the shofar blown over Abraham’s well in Be’er-Sheva.

We hosted a wonderful Yom Kippur Service where Norman and Barbara both spoke and our guest speaker was Ps Avner Boskey from Israel and he and his wife Rachel blessed us with their worship as well. You can catch up with this on our church Facebook page of 28 Sept. Ps Avner Boskey is a Messianic Jewish author, teacher and musician. Avner and Rachel are the founders of Final Frontier Ministries, a ministry dedicated to stirring up the creative arts, worship, intercession, the prophetic and evangelism.
We will be hosting a Hannukah event soon as we commemorate all the feasts and started doing so in 1997.
Ps Norman Miller sharing further at Tabernacle of David on his prophetic word to the National Solemn Assembly 26.9.20
We have a ministry praying for the Australian government called Gathering Apostolic Prophetic Network (GAP) based on Ezek 22:30 and Isaiah 9:6-7. We have been meeting fortnightly by zoom for 2 years.
For those who may be disappointed with the results of the ACT, NZ and Qld elections, I felt the Lord bring this parable of the wheat and tares to my heart (Barbara) a few weeks ago. Mt 13:24-30. Jesus said in v30 “Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, ‘First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.’ ”
We need to continue to pray for our nations as righteousness exalts a nation. We want to also praise the Lord for His blessings on our nation. We have weathered the Covid 19 crisis and are finally at no new cases and no deaths – a double doughnut as the media has called it. It will take a long time to recover financially but the Reserve Bank is amazingly saying that we are out of recession. We continue to pray for the mental health crisis caused by Covid and that this shaking will bring revival and transformation.
We praise the Lord for the Tabernacle of David Asia Pacific Prayer Network which is hosted by Ps Norman and Barbara Miller of the Centre for International Reconciliation and Peace. We pray also for Israel, the Middle East and the Isaiah 19 highway.
We have a guest speaker for 15 mins at each of our fortnightly zoom prayer meetings and have had some wonderful speakers, beautiful worship and blessed prayer this year. Our last two speakers were Ps Emmanuel Fave, Chair All Pacific Arise and Ps Joy and Abraham Tan from Malaysia.
Other speakers we have been blessed with are Ps Shlomy and Miriam Abramov from Israel, Albert Veksler of the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast, Dr George Annadorai from Singapore, Ps Jack Yeo from Sydney and Adel Moussa, originally from Egypt. Norman also shared a session on our long term Asia Pacific & Israel focus and Barbara shared on the de Quiros declaration and Vanuatu ministry.
The Lord bless you and keep you and make His face shine upon you.
