RECONCILIATION NEWZ BUZZ DEC 2024 no 2, Dec 16 Newsletter

Greetings and may the Lord bless you!
Celebrating the goodnews of God!

Faith Hope and Growth by Ps Barbara Miller at Lifestream Church Canberra 8.12.24

An anointing of compassion and healing was poured out by the Lord. We thank the Lord because we have had a 20 year relationship with Lifestream church and its former name since Ps Renton McCrae was on our Pastors Reference Group when we hosted our first Psalm 24:7 conference in Parliament House Canberra in 2004. We do appreciate the elders especially Peter and Kim Taylor who have been a huge blessing over the years. I remember when Lou Engle from the USA came into our conference there was such an anointing with our Tabernacle of David worship team pumping and Jacqueline, Kim and Irwin’s warfare dancing, he couldn’t get over the anointing.

In fact it was wonderful to catch up with so many friends in Canberra including Glen Sebasio, Jacqueline and Derek Bedson and Ps Irwin and Jill Ross. Also Shoshana and Rod Linnane who travelled from Brisbane. Shoshana is working with us on our school education project.

VICTORIAN GOVT PROMISES ACTION 16.12.24

The statement we gave to the Victorian government with 4 practical measures which they and state governments can take to deal with antisemitism may have had an effect on the measures announced today by the Premier which are similar.

Amazingly the statement was given to the Victorian government on Dec 6, the day of the firebombing of Adass Israel synagogue in Melbourne and the 86th anniversary of William Cooper and the Australian Aborigines’ League protest about Kristallnacht where synagogues in Europe were burned and their glass shattered.

Norman and I outlined 7 measures the federal government could take on the same day (Dec 6) outside Parliament House Canberra.

When we released a press statement in Cairns on Dec 10, we increased this to 16 measures state and federal governments could take re Australian antisemitism and its anti-Israel stance. Read the statement and press releases below.

UNITED WITH WILLIAM COOPER EVENT MELBOURNE DEC 6

Barbara was pleased to be on the team along with David Jack and Steve Green of SCAFI and Sarah Way of ICEJ and some members of the Jewish community who organised the United with William Cooper event in Melbourne on Dec 6, the anniversary of Cooper and the Australian Aborigines’ League protest of Kristallnacht to the German Consulate in Melbourne. Wonderful messages were given by rabbis and ministers. After messages at the  East Melbourne synagogue, they proceeded to the Victorian parliament to present a Social Cohesion statement to the Premier’s representative.

Barbara wrote the statement, with a paragraph updated by Alice Young of William Cooper’s family, sections were read by Alice, other Aboriginal people present, Michael Pearce, the Hon Consul for Germany and Ps Dale Stephenson. The statement was presented to Nick Staicos, the Parliamentary Secretary for Multicultural Affairs, on the steps of the parliament. It was on a background of Norman’s painting and was presented by Michael McDonogh, the great grandson of William Cooper. Many Christian organisations had endorsed it with their logos but a copy without logos was presented. It is planned to later present it to the Governor.

Alice and her friends did a dance to Ngarra Burra Ferra on the steps of Parliament House which was very moving. I have a recent article on this song and the amazing William Cooper story.

This followed another Dec 6 event and flag raising ceremony at the Beth Weizmann Centre organised by the Zionist Federation of Australia (ZFA) to which former senator Nova Peris, Michael McDonogh and Raymond Finn spoke stirring messages before coming to the East Melbourne synagogue event and speaking there.

ISRAEL & GERMAN EMBASSIES HONOUR WILLIAM COOPER DEC 6

It was an honour for Norman to do the Acknowledgement of Country at the Israel Embassy in Canberra where the Israel and German embassies honoured William Cooper with a plaque on Dec 6, the 86th anniversary of the protest he led to the German Consulate in Melbourne re Kristallnacht. Leonie Drummond, great granddaughter of William Cooper, was one of the speakers. Barbara was pleased to be involved in advising on the preparations on the event at the embassy as William Cooper’s biographer. Cooper family member John Higgins and his wife Yvonne were also present as was David Jack behind the camera and Abe Schwarz who has done so much for the legacy of William Cooper.

Many embassies attended the event as did press but it was overshadowed press wise by the shocking firebombing of the Adass Israel synagogue in Melbourne on the same morning.

Nevertheless, it was a historic event as Germany is now one of Israel’s best supporters and the two embassies have an adjoining fence on which they will put the plaque in an event they cohosted. Norman did a prophetic act with the Acknowledgement of Country by joining the 2 clapsticks together as in Ezekiel 37:15 declaring that Israel and Germany are one and the Aboriginal and Jewish people are one. He also played the didjeridoo. We thank Glen Sebasio for making the clapsticks which Norman stayed up the night before and painted. As well as Aboriginal designs, he put a star of David on each clapstick and presented them to Ambassador Amir Maimon.

Barbara presented her book “Shattered Lives Broken Dreams” to the German ambassador while Norman presented her with a book of photographs of William Cooper and his legacy made by David Jack.

It was the 20th time Dahlia organised this yearly event which commemorates the historic UN resolution 181 of 1947 to partition the British Mandate into 2 states, a Jewish state and an Arab state.

The Jews accepted it and the Arabs rejected it. They were not called Palestinians at that time. The role of Doc Evatt and Australia in facilitating that resolution was commended. Following this resolution, the modern state of Israel was proclaimed in May 1948. The beginning Norman’s message was not videod, but he acknowledged Hashem, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel first. Most of his message can be seen here,

It was an enjoyable event with a reenactment of the historic UN vote, good speeches, dance and song.

THREE SYNAGOGUE VISITS

We visited Emmanuel Synagogue on Dec 2 for the Celebrating Israel event atWoollahra which was peaceful though it was in between 2 terrorist events Nov 21 and Dec 11 which we have publicly condemned.

We also met with the President of the Great Synagogue on Dec 4. He told us that they had an event that night and knew there would be anti-Israel protestors and Nova Peris was speaking. What he didn’t know is that things would get so bad that those who attended were locked inside the synagogue for 3 hours, fearful of leaving because of the threatening demonstration. We had already gone to the Aboriginal church by then and were not present when this happening. The intimidation the Jewish community is facing is sickening.

In Canberra, we were blessed to attend the synagogue service on Saturday Dec 7 and have lunch at the home of Dr Alan and Anita Shroot afterwards, along with Robert Cussel and Jane and Tim O’Neill. It was a blessed time.

We had precious time with Jewish friends in Sydney over coffee, lunch, dinner and the Jewish film festival.

PUBLIC RELATIONS CAMPAIGN AGAINST ANTISEMITISM AND ANTI-ISRAEL BIAS

Our Public Relations Campaign is underway though the Gofundme campaign to support it is very slow to gain momentum. We don’t have any paid staff and have limited funds. Please help spread the word about it, donate yourself no matter how small, and volunteer. We are pleased an experienced curriculum writer is looking at the Queensland schools curriculum for us to see where we can get an inroad and will help us prepare materials.

Barbara has already written a training manual for adults and upper secondary with activities. We have met with the Executive Council of Australian Jewry which is a peak body for Australian Jews and they have asked to partner with us which is great.

We are continuing with our monthly zoom seminar series and daily social media reaching out worldwide to counter lies re current events and history.

Adam Kreuzer who is Education Officer for the Australian Jewish Association is writing regular articles for our website and we have been working for a couple of years with Eli Rabinowitz of the WE ARE HERE Foundation in Perth as he is an educator.

The Australian Jewish News wrote an article about our project last week SEE HERE

EDUCATION CAMPAIGN AGAINST ANTISEMITISM & DISINFORMATION ABOUT ISRAEL

USING GOFUNDME TO MAKE IT MORE PROFESSIONAL AND SUSTAINED

CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW – COMPASSION AND EDUCATION

In a world where misinformation and prejudice often overshadow truth, it’s crucial to elevate voices that stand for justice, compassion, and education. The Indigenous Friends of Israel International is dedicated to fostering understanding, combating disinformation, and supporting the Jewish community both locally and internationally.

Please see the website to find out more information and see the video below to be inspired. We need your help. CLICK HERE

Education Campaign Against Antisemitism by Indigenous Friends of Israel International

Please get involved! We need your help!

We would love to connect with you and help you support Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East, working against calls for its destruction and the genocide of its people. These calls are advancing at great pace since October 7. Indigenous Friends of Israel formed in July 2017 because of concerns over Australia’s policy towards Israel. Since then we have gone international as antisemitism is international and isan ancient hatred. The forces standing against Israel also oppose Western and/or Judeo-Christian values which have helped us achieve a society with social cohesion and the rule of law.

Please help us take a stand against antisemitism, and for a community where all are valued and safe.  There are many opportunities to use your passion, gifting and skills as a volunteer whether you are a person of faith or not.  United we stand and divided we fall. Please complete the form to volunteer.

Are you good at creating or sharing social media, fundraising, administration, film and video making, government advocacy, newsletters, speaking, representing a geographical area, organising zoom meetings or do you have other giftings or talents that you can use to bless the Lord, the Jewish people, and Israel. It doesn’t matter where you live in the world, you can get involved. Check it out here.

ANNIVERSARY OF KRISTALLNACHT ZOOM MEETING
HOSTED BY INDIGENOUS FRIENDS OF ISRAEL 9.11.23

Hear Ps Avi Mizrachi of Dugit Ministries Tel Aviv and Ps Howard Bass of Yeshua’s Inheritance Beer Sheva share at 6.30pm Brisbane time, 7.30pm Sydney, 7pm SA & NT, 4.30pm WA, and 10.30am Israel time.

The photo is of Germans passing a Jewish shop with windows broken during Kristallnacht 9-10 Nov 1938. It was the start of the Holocaust. It is taken from my book Shattered Lives Broken Dreams.

It is with sadness that we tell you that 1930’s Nazi Germany is here again, this time with Islamo-fascism, hatred of Jews and rampant antisemitism, On October 7, the hope of Never Again was shattered. With 1400 Jews tortured and slaughtered, many in their beds or safe rooms, it was the highest number of Jews murdered in one day since the Holocaust.

The October 7 barbaric onslaught on civilians in Israel has sparked a blood lust around the world to annihilate the Jewish state and Jews wherever they can be found in the world. We see it on the streets of western nations like Australia, the US, the UK and Europe

We are calling this zoom meeting on the anniversary of  Kristallancht or the Night ot the Broken Glass in Germany where Jewish homes and businesses had their windows broken, synagogues were burned , over 90 Jews were killed and thousands were forced to wear stars of David and marched to a concentration camp.

This time, Jewish families were burnt alive in Israel, Jewish businesses are being vandalised in the United States, Jewish diplomats are wearing stars of David at the UN and Jewish children in Australia can’t wear uniforms to school for fear of being attacked. Actual attacks on Jews are occurring around the world.  Jewish university students in Australia are having to sit their exams segregated in safe places.

In my book If I Survive about Lena Goldstein, she talks about how she experienced the attacks on Jews by other students at university in Poland and she and other Jews were not able to complete their studies.

Incredibly, Israel is being blamed for what has happened. It is a classic blame the victim narrative. Worse it is a narrative of cultural Marxism where the Marxists talk about the “useful idiots” in academia, the media and government (even churches) who swallow their ideology that there is only one way of looking at the world – oppressors and the oppressed. Despite being the most multicultural nation in the world, Israel is painted as the white oppressor of coloured Palestinians. It is painted as occupiers of Gaza even though it pulled out in 2005.

We grieve about all innocent victims of this Israel-Hamas war to root out the terrorists – those slaughtered mercilessly in Israel and those civilians killed by Israeli retaliation in Gaza including those used as human shields by Hamas. We know Israel tries hard to avoid civilian casualties but Hamas wins the media war at the toll.

We pray for innocents to be spared and for Christian Arabs in Israel and Arab lands to be safe as well. We pray for God’s angels to be stationed on the borders of Israel to protect her against Iran and its proxies – Hezbollah in Lebanon, proxies in Syria and Iraq in the north, the Palestinian Authority in Judea and Samaria (West Bank) Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza and the Houthis from Yemen firing on Eilat in the south.

We pray Lord that You would comfort your people in Israel and worldwide from  the grief of loss of loved ones and fear from threats to their very existence and heal the wounded. I woke up the other morning with the words “existential threat.” Israel and the Jews worldwide are fighting for their very existence, their survival as a people and as the only Jewish nation in the world, the only democracy in the Middle East. And we stand with Israel.
Isaiah 40:1-2
“Comfort, comfort My people,” says your God.
“With gentle words, tender and kind …

Please join us Thursday night and stand with Israel as well. Zechariah 2:8 says:

“For thus says the Lord of hosts, “After glory He has sent me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye’.”

RECONCILIATION ROUNDTABLE BY ZOOM 2.11.23

We had an inspiring time when Ps Norman Miller called a Reconciliation Roundtable by zoom on Thursday 19 October followed up by one on 2 Nov. It was called to discuss and pray for strategies to move forward in healing and reconciliation after the Voice Referendum divided our nation and brought grieving and anger to many of the Yes Campaigners. Many useful strategies came up and the recording is below. We will inform you of the next one soon.

We all have the message and ministry of reconciliation 2 Cor 5:17-21. Gal 3:28 tells us we are all one in Christ no matter what our race, gender, income or social status.

Prayer Points for Alice Springs and All Communities Affected by Similar Issues 2.2.23
By Pastors Norman and Barbara Miller

As we have been requested by a number of people to develop prayer points for the crisis in Alice Springs which is also being experienced in northern Queensland and the north of Western Australia as well as other parts of the Northern Territory, we have provided the following. We have developed these prayer points in our own prayer time and also after many phone conversations with Indigenous and other Christian leaders who live in or have worked in Alice Springs. This list may seem too much but just pick out one or two as the Lord leads you or just pray as led by the Lord.

Prayer for Practical Issues

  1. Healing for Indigenous and non-indigenous people traumatised by physical violence, break-ins to homes, businesses, and cars.
  2. For improvement in the town camps – that there would be nurturing responsible relationships instead of dysfunctional families, domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, alcohol abuse, violence, and crime. Pray in the opposite and positive.
  3. That children and youth will have food to eat and sleep regular hours in safe homes with parents who know and care where they are.
  4. For the cycle of intergenerational poverty to be broken, that families can find meaningful ways to spend their time either with paid or unpaid work and/or recreational pursuits. For employment opportunities to be increased and people mentored in income generation activities.
  5. For recreational activities for children and youth in town camps and Alice so they don’t get bored and destructive.
  6. That children and youth will have a purpose for their lives, and dreams of a future for themselves, and the motivation and self-confidence to achieve them.
  7. That parents and other elders will earn and receive respect from the younger generation.
  8. That the children and youth would re-engage with their schooling and get help to catch up what they have missed out on and that adult education services would be more accessible.
  9. For the government to provide more housing and infrastructure, especially in the town camps.
  10. For local decision-makers including Aboriginal organisations (Tangentyere Council, Central Australian Aboriginal Congress, and others), Alice Springs Council, government departments, community organisations etc. to make wise decisions and come up with workable strategies. For all consultations to include Indigenous people, organisations, and communities and to be empowering for them.
  11. For Teen Challenge to be set up again and for the government-funded drop-in centre to operate again with a night patrol of Aboriginal elders.
  12. For finances (already allocated and new) to assist Alice Springs and region to be used strategically to bring a breakthrough in this situation.

Prayer for Spiritual Issues

  1. For the 20m cross that has been erected on Memory Mountain near Haasts Bluff nearby the Aboriginal communities of Ikuntji and Papunya to bring revival. It was a vision of the Aboriginal people of Ikuntji that Ken Duncan helped raise the money for. It will be lit up at a special event on Good Friday 2023. The Lord may even call you to go there However, this is a great opportunity to pray for spiritual renewal and revival. (For more information, see https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-10-22/haasts-bluff-cross-monument-central-australia-ken-duncan/101528352)
  2. That the local churches in Alice Springs will come together in unity and pray together and that they would be prepared to engage with youth on the streets at night. That Indigenous Christians would be supported to outreach more and pray for Indigenous Ps Sherry Lowah’s congregation as they do outreach.
  3. That children and youth who disrupt church services or steal from them will get saved and repentance and revival will fall on Alice Springs and other affected communities.
  4. Pray against a spirit of fear enveloping Alice Springs and region, affecting Indigenous and non-indigenous people, and for their safety.
  5. Pray against a spirit of addiction, boredom, and hopelessness.
  6. Pray against a spirit of lawlessness and anarchy.
  7. That the youth, children, and adults will have a sense of right and wrong.
  8. That the media would report accurately on the situation and not inflame the situation by calling concerned citizens “white supremacists” and that the troubles will not increase any racism that already exists from either side.
  9. That God’s peace would reign over the region.
  10. That Indigenous Christians would honour those parts of their culture that line up with God’s word and let go of those aspects of their culture that don’t and have the wisdom and discernment of God to know the difference. That non-indigenous Christians would do the same.
  11. That just as God covered Adam and Eve’s shame with His glory, He would cover the shame of Aboriginal people with His glory. This is because “shame” is a word Aboriginal people often use to express how they feel.
  12. Some Aboriginal people have felt invisible because their plight is not seen and their cries are not heard. We break off the legacy of the doctrine of terra nullius that said that the land we now know as Australia was uninhabited. If what happens in Alice Springs was happening in Sydney, e.g., action would have been taken a long time ago.

L-R Books by Barbara Miller on the Holocaust,- If I Survive, the story of a Polish Jewish Holocaust survivor and Shattered Lives Broken Dreams about the Australian Aboriginal Response to the Holocaust. They are available from www.barbara-miller-books.com.

Barbara was pleased to speak briefly at the Southern Cross Alliance for Israel (SCAFI) zoom meeting just before the International Holocaust Remembrance Day to launch the Handbook on the Holocaust (below). The main speakers at the SCAFI event were the former Israel ambassador to the US and Eli Rabinowitz from the WAH! Foundation.

UN International Holocaust Remembrance Day

The WE ARE HERE! Foundation is proud to announce three new education initiatives in response to the UN International Holocaust Remembrance Day’s pledge to broaden educational programs.  These three active education programs promote human rights and social justice through the principle of being an Upstander. These are:

1. IN MY POCKET Project on the Kindertransport and displaced people, suitable for 9 to 12 year olds, in collaboration with educators in Germany and Scotland.
The project has been further developed for this age group for WA Museum Boola Bardip and other organisations in Australia. These consist of Book Readings with Art & Craft Workshops.

2. Holocaust Teachers’ Resources and Year 10 Holocaust History Curriculum Resources by Dr Bill Allen, retired Senior Lecturer in Education
Dr Bill Allen’s new and comprehensive resources are for Year 10 teachers to use to teach the Holocaust component of the in-depth study of World War 2.

3. Handbook – The Holocaust and The Australian and Australian Aboriginal Responses by Barbara Miller
This handbook is a resource for educators and teachers and for upper secondary students and adult education programs in Australia and internationally. The handbook focuses on Australia’s response to the events leading up to and during the Holocaust, and in particular the specific responses of Aboriginal political and social activist William Cooper and fellow members of the AAL. This online handbook is free.

WAH! Foundation chose Aboriginal William Cooper as their ambassador, a fine example of the compassion of an Upstander. He was a prominent activist who set out against the odds to protest the plight of the Jews in Nazi Germany, culminating in the tragedy of Kristalnacht in 1938.

Success is not always achieved overnight. William Cooper marched to the Melbourne German Consulate on 6 December 1938 to present his petition in support of Germany’s Jews. His petition was not accepted. This deed was only fully recognised by the German government in 2017.

“Some say that William Cooper only performed one act of solidarity in protesting  to the Germans’ cruel treatment of the Jews. However, I sense that he has become more than a Christian Aboriginal upstander. He has become a symbol of the bond between Jews and Aborigines which was formed through his protest and which has deepened with the commemoration of his actions.” Barbara Miller, biographer.

These online resources are offered free of charge to educators and students, as long as the source is credited. To arrange your copy, or for more information, email: elirab@iinet.net.au

Decrees and Dangerous Prayers

Decrees and Dangerous Prayers by Barbara Miller is a timely prophetic calling for intercessors and leaders. The scriptural examples are powerful and Barbara’s teaching and experience enhance the examples given in the Word. This book is a ‘must read’ to servants of God who desire to see changes in the nations.
June Volk, Author and Prophetic Speaker, Shelly and June Volk Ministries, USA

Decrees and Dangerous Prayers is a powerful inspired book. Ps Barbara Miller gives us insightful historic stories and cases when God uses Apostles like Ps Norman and Ps Barbara Miller to pray and release decrees given to them by the power of the Holy Spirit to reverse any situation and give glory to God.
Lilian Schmid, Coordinator, Prayer Strategy for the Spheres of Influence, Australia

DECREES & DANGEROUS PRAYERS are dangerous weapons in the hands of the righteous ones, who know how to wield these potent weapons where and when needed, causing permanent changes in the spiritual landscapes – first in the heavenlies above and then in the nations below. The Millers @ Ps. Norman & Barbara are masters at this and this is their version of the “Art Of War” for the end – times.

PRESS RELEASE RE AUSTRALIA NOT RECOGNISING WEST JERUSALEM AS THE CAPITAL OF ISRAEL

By Norman and Barbara Miller, Indigenous Friends of Israel 19.10.22

Jihadi Bob Carr has been pushing the terrorist organization Hamas’ position for some years. So now we have Penny Wong, Anthony Albanese, Tony Burke, and the ALP cabinet reversing the previous government’s decision that West Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. Who is Australia to be telling another nation where its capital is? How insulting! No wonder Hamas has congratulated Australia for the decision. See more
