This is just a quick newsletter to let you know about the next zoom seminar for Indigenous Friends of Israel International. We have loads to share re ministry but will do so soon. May the Lord bless you!

Etienne has a biography written about his amazing life by Mordechai Nisan “The Conscience of Lebanon.” Mordechai is an Israeli professor and scholar of Middle East Studies at the Rothberg International School of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Etienne will hopefully join us live but if not by pre-recorded interview with a family member of his to do the Q and A. He is very much in demand at the moment with the crisis in Lebanon.

Etienne’s daughter is a famous singer and we will open with a song of hers – the Lord’s prayer – in Aramaic, the language of Jesus. So spread the word!

These calls are advancing at great pace since October 7. Indigenous Friends of Israel formed in July 2017 because of concerns over Australia’s policy towards Israel. Since then we have gone international as antisemitism is international and isan ancient hatred. The forces standing against Israel also oppose Western and/or Judeo-Christian values which have helped us achieve a society with social cohesion and the rule of law.

Please help us take a stand against antisemitism, and for a community where all are valued and safe.  There are many opportunities to use your passion, gifting and skills as a volunteer whether you are a person of faith or not.  United we stand and divided we fall. They spoke at our conference in Cairns last year. Living in Israel & speaking to us from the USA, Ps Avi Mizrachi founded Adonai Roi congregation & Dugit Outreach ministries based in Tel Aviv with his wife Chaya. (top right) Ps Milo Siilata, a Samoan New Zealander, has been the coordinator for over 2 decades of a prayer movement called All Pacific Arise formerly APPA. They love Israel & work with Jews in Israel for the Welcome the King of Glory events. Milo and his team have encouraged the governments of Pacific nations to make covenants with the nation of Israel.

He is an active member of the Melbourne Jewish Community and the proud grandson of Holocaust survivors. He is a Board Member and Antisemitism Education and Strategies Officer with the Australian Jewish Association and a registered counsellor.

We are happy to say that the painting in the background has been secured by a Jewish man in Sydney who is donating it to the Central Synagogue in Bondi, the largest synagogue in the southern hemisphere at which we spoke last year. The boomerang Norman made will be donated to the Israel Ambassador to Australia Amir Maimon who we greatly appreciate.

Ps Enoch and Sarah Lavender are on a book tour of Qld with his new book “The Jubilee & End Times.” He is an excellent Bible teacher with a focus on Israel and was a key leader in Shalom Israel in Melbourne before moving to the Tweed Heads and itinerant ministry. He and Sarah will also share personally how the Lord has led them in their marriage and minister physical and emotional healing. United with Israel and Bring Them Home, invites you to join us at our upcoming vigil on Sunday, December 17, at 10am. 

The primary theme of our vigil will centre around Women’s Rights, addressing the concerning issue that women’s rights organisations, UNfortunately are refusing or failing to recognise the atrocities committed on Israeli and Jewish women by Hamas on October 7.

By coming together, we strive to break the UNbearable silence, demand justice, and advocate for the rights of all women, regardless of their background.

Our community values unity, peace, and justice. We will express solidarity with the Israeli people and emphasise the urgent need for the safe return of the 138 hostages still held in captivity.

Please join us, and together we will re-affirm UNity, peace, and justice for the hostages and women of Israel.

Indigenous Friends of Israel Respond to the UN Vote on Israel-Hamas War

“Each-way Albo has turned Australia into an each-way state trying to appease the antisemites and appear to be friendly to Israel at the same time. Chamberlain has shown us that the path of appeasement is dangerous as it just emboldens those with no moral conscience,” said co-founders of Indigenous Friends of Israel, Norman and Barbara Miller.

There can be no peace with an enemy that wants to destroy us with its genocidal claims of “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free.” This calls for the annihilation of the only Jewish state in the world and driving all its people into the sea. Only the hateful or naïve would agree with it.

Indigenous Friends of Israel was responding to the UN non-binding vote for an immediate ceasefire in the Hamas-Israel war. Australia was one of 153 nations who voted in favour of it, while the US was one of 10 nations who voted against it, and the UK was one of 23 nations who abstained.

We agree with Israel’s ambassador to Australia, Amir Maimon, who said he finds it difficult to understand how Australia can support Israel’s right to defend its people from terrorist aggression, while also voting in support of a ceasefire that will embolden Hamas.

“This war can only end with Hamas being totally defeated and the liberation of all our hostages,” he said.

Hostages Must Be Returned

The Millers said, “Shame on the Australian government voting for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war at the UN and shame on the UN. This is siding with a terrorist group rather than a nation legitimately defending itself against the most horrific terror act on October 7 and the repeated statements by Hamas leaders that they will continue to perpetrate as many attacks like October 7 as possible.

Indigenous Friends of Israel slams The Greens

Indigenous Friends of Israel founders Norman and Barbara Miller condemn the ignorance, racism, and antisemitism of the Greens MPs in the Australian Senate in recent weeks and of the Greens’ mayoral candidate for Brisbane, Jonathan Sriranganathan.

The Millers wrote: “Mr Sriranganathan created a post calling for Zionists and Nazis to be excluded from a protest rally he was calling to scrap the Gabba Olympics. Was this in the name of inclusion which the Greens usually call for?

For someone who hopes to be Lord Mayor of Brisbane to be equating Zionism and Nazism shows political naivety and poor judgment and he should make an apology to the Jewish community of Brisbane as has been called for by the Qld Jewish Board of Deputies.

REGISTER HERE FOR SPECIAL EVENT IN SYDNEY

On 29 November, 1947, a 2000-year-old dream became reality: A Jewish State was born anew in its ancient homeland. On that day the UN General Assembly voted on Resolution 181, adopting a plan to partition the British Mandate into two states, one Jewish, and one Arab.

Commemorate this event with the Jewish community in Sydney this Wednesday night. Christians are invited. Norman and Barbara will be among the speakers. We invite you to stand with Israel at this special time. When the legitimacy of the state of Israel is being questioned, we need to remind ourselves of this UN Resolution approving of it in 1947. The international community welcomed Israel to the community of nations. The Jews accepted the proposal and the Arabs didn’t as they have rejected a number of peace plans since then. In the end, it is only God’s peace plan that will work.

Pastors Norman and Barbara Miller will be at the pro-Israel rally on the lawns of Parliament House Canberra on Tuesday 28 November 7-9am. We will then go to Sydney from Wednesday to Friday for meetings there. Please join us and/or keep us in prayer and our loved ones at home. God bless you.

ANNIVERSARY OF KRISTALLNACHT ZOOM MEETING
HOSTED BY INDIGENOUS FRIENDS OF ISRAEL 9.11.23

The photo is of Germans passing a Jewish shop with windows broken during Kristallnacht 9-10 Nov 1938. It was the start of the Holocaust. It is taken from my book Shattered Lives Broken Dreams.

It is with sadness that we tell you that 1930’s Nazi Germany is here again, this time with Islamo-fascism, hatred of Jews and rampant antisemitism, On October 7, the hope of Never Again was shattered. With 1400 Jews tortured and slaughtered, many in their beds or safe rooms, it was the highest number of Jews murdered in one day since the Holocaust.

The October 7 barbaric onslaught on civilians in Israel has sparked a blood lust around the world to annihilate the Jewish state and Jews wherever they can be found in the world. We see it on the streets of western nations like Australia, the US, the UK and Europe

We are calling this zoom meeting on the anniversary of  Kristallancht or the Night ot the Broken Glass in Germany where Jewish homes and businesses had their windows broken, synagogues were burned , over 90 Jews were killed and thousands were forced to wear stars of David and marched to a concentration camp. 

This time, Jewish families were burnt alive in Israel, Jewish businesses are being vandalised in the United States, Jewish diplomats are wearing stars of David at the UN and Jewish children in Australia can’t wear uniforms to school for fear of being attacked. Actual attacks on Jews are occurring around the world.  Jewish university students in Australia are having to sit their exams segregated in safe places. 

In my book If I Survive about Lena Goldstein, she talks about how she experienced the attacks on Jews by other students at university in Poland and she and other Jews were not able to complete their studies.

Incredibly, Israel is being blamed for what has happened. It is a classic blame the victim narrative. Worse it is a narrative of cultural Marxism where the Marxists talk about the “useful idiots” in academia, the media and government (even churches) who swallow their ideology that there is only one way of looking at the world – oppressors and the oppressed. Despite being the most multicultural nation in the world, Israel is painted as the white oppressor of coloured Palestinians. It is painted as occupiers of Gaza even though it pulled out in 2005. 

We grieve about all innocent victims of this Israel-Hamas war to root out the terrorists – those slaughtered mercilessly in Israel and those civilians killed by Israeli retaliation in Gaza including those used as human shields by Hamas. We know Israel tries hard to avoid civilian casualties but Hamas wins the media war at the toll. 

We pray for innocents to be spared and for Christian Arabs in Israel and Arab lands to be safe as well. We pray for God’s angels to be stationed on the borders of Israel to protect her against Iran and its proxies – Hezbollah in Lebanon, proxies in Syria and Iraq in the north, the Palestinian Authority in Judea and Samaria (West Bank) Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza and the Houthis from Yemen firing on Eilat in the south.

We pray Lord that You would comfort your people in Israel and worldwide from  the grief of loss of loved ones and fear from threats to their very existence and heal the wounded. I woke up the other morning with the words “existential threat.” Israel and the Jews worldwide are fighting for their very existence, their survival as a people and as the only Jewish nation in the world, the only democracy in the Middle East. And we stand with Israel.

“For thus says the Lord of hosts, “After glory He has sent me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye’.”

RECONCILIATION ROUNDTABLE BY ZOOM 2.11.23

We had an inspiring time when Ps Norman Miller called a Reconciliation Roundtable by zoom on Thursday 19 October followed up by one on 2 Nov. It was called to discuss and pray for strategies to move forward in healing and reconciliation after the Voice Referendum divided our nation and brought grieving and anger to many of the Yes Campaigners. Many useful strategies came up and the recording is below. We will inform you of the next one soon.

We all have the message and ministry of reconciliation 2 Cor 5:17-21. Gal 3:28 tells us we are all one in Christ no matter what our race, gender, income or social status.
