RECONCILIATION NEWZ BUZZ June 2024 no 2, June 17 Newsletter

Ps Norman and Barbara Miller on stage at the Never Again is Now rally in Brisbane 9 June 2024. 1500 people had registered and enjoyed a peaceful event with Christians, Jews and others attending including the Iranian community who also suffer from the Iranian regime. Rev Mark Leach, cofounder of NAIN was MC and his daughter Freya Leach was one of the many speakers. Jewish and Christian leaders and conservative politicians spoke as did Norman and Barbara.

Norman blew the shofar and asked others present and watching the livestream to join him in blowing the shofar. He also played a song he wrote on reconciliation that had the didjeridoo played by his nephew Darryl on it and the clapsticks played by himself.

Munganbana Norman’s boomerang has Aboriginal and Jewish designs. The main message is Am Yisrael Chai or the Nation of Israel live or the People of Israel live! On each end of the very large 2m boomerang are hands (Norman and Barbara’s) which is typical of Aboriginal art. On each hand, Am Yisrael Chai is written in Hebrew. On the top of the boomerang is the Star of David and inside it is 76 for the 76th anniversary of the modern state of Israel. Psalm 76:1 is on the boomerang as well. “God is renowned in Judah; in Israel his name is great”.

Norman got about 300 signatures on the back of the boomerang some in Cairns and some a the rally in Brisbane. It will be presented as a gift to someone special.

RESTARTING MONTHLY INDIGENOUS FRIENDS OF ISRAEL ZOOM MEETINGS MONDAY 24 JUNE 7PM AEST
SENDING OUT FLIER SOON

Speakers (left) Grand Chief Lynda Prince, Envoy to Indigenous Embassy Jerusalem, and President of First Nations North America. She will speak on a First Nations Summit she organised in Canada at the end of May to which Norman and Barbara were invited but couldn’t go because of other commitments.

(right) Adam Kreuzer who is an experienced political commentator, columnist, copywriter, and author. He is an active member of the Melbourne Jewish Community and the proud grandson of Holocaust survivors. He is a Board Member and Antisemitism Education and Strategies Officer with the Australian Jewish Association and a registered counsellor.

Please get involved! We need your help!

We would love to connect with you and help you support Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East, working against calls for its destruction and the genocide of its people. These calls are advancing at great pace since October 7. Indigenous Friends of Israel formed in July 2017 because of concerns over Australia’s policy towards Israel. Since then we have gone international as antisemitism is international and is an ancient hatred. The forces standing against Israel also oppose Western and/or Judeo-Christian values which have helped us achieve a society with social cohesion and the rule of law.

Please help us take a stand against antisemitism, and for a community where all are valued and safe.  There are many opportunities to use your passion, gifting and skills as avolunteer whether you are a person of faith or not.  United we stand and divided we fall. Please complete the form to volunteer.

Are you good at creating or sharing social media, fundraising, administration, film and video making, government advocacy, newsletters, speaking, representing a geographical area, organising zoom meetings or do you have other giftings or talents that you can use to bless the Lord, the Jewish people, and Israel. It doesn’t matter where you live in the world, you can get involved. Check it out here.

I HAVE A DREAM – PS NORMAN MILLER SPEECH NAIN JUNE 24

My Aboriginal name is Munganbana, which means Mountain Water in Jirrbal one of my tribes from the Atherton Tableland. The other 2 are Bar-Barrum and Wadjanbarra Yidinji. In welcoming you here, I honour Hashem the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I honour Indigenous elders past, present and future and all those who have come to make Australia home.

Blow the trumpet in Zion and Australia! I will now blow the shofar and invite all those here and watching from around the world to join in with me.

I will now play you a clip of my nephew Darryl Miller playing the didjeridoo when we recorded a song I wrote on Reconciliation.

As it is the 76th anniversary of the rebirth of the state of Israel, I will quote Psalm 76:1-2 – In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.
In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.

I HAVE A 2M BOOMERANG HERE WITH Ps 76 & Am Yisrael Chai on it and I’d like you to sign it afterwards please and it will be gifted to the nation.

I look forward to the day, and I have a dream that one day Jerusalem will be the uncontested capital of Israel. I have a dream that the day will come when the nations will recognize Israel’s right to the borders G-d, Hashem gave to Abraham, Isaac and Israel. I have a dream and I know it will come to pass that Messiah will sit on His throne in Jerusalem and the nations will bow down to Him and deal favourably with Israel.

I look forward to the day Zechariah prophecied in chapter 8 verses 3-5, “And now the Lord says; I am returning to Mt Zion, and will live in Jerusalem: then Jerusalem will be called the Faithful City; and the mountains of the Lord of heaven’s armies will be called the Holy Mountain.

This is what the Lord of heaven’s armies says; Once again old men and women will walk Jerusalem’s streets with their canes, and will sit together in the city’s squares. And the streets of the city will be full of boys and girls playing.
Am Yisrael Chai!!!

MESSAGE NAIN BRISBANE 9 JUNE 24 BY PS BARBARA MILLER

We have been in ministry since 1996 and formed the Indigenous Friends of Israel in 2017. At the National Prayer Gathering at Uluru in 1999, the Lord showed me that there was a spirit of adoption on the land and on the Aboriginal people and they were saying, “Welcome into the family, Come home” to the rest of the people of Australia. I even heard the land say it. The Jews are Indigenous to Israel and we defend your right to your ancient homeland. But you are welcome in Australia – despite the minority who have turned on you – so walk proudly, walk safely in this land. You are our MISHPACHA.

In a Healing the People, Healing the Land conference we hosted in Uluru in 2005, many tribes from around Australia attended and we covenanted Australia to the Lord and to Israel.

As the Australian leaders of the Jerusalem House of Prayer for All Nations, Norman and I and our team covenanted Australia to stand with Israel, in Jerusalem in 2007, as Israel’s armour bearer just as Jonathan was David’s armour bearer. The successful charges of Australian light horsemen at Beer Sheva and Tzemach (Semack) is part of it. The scripture we read out was,

“So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, “May the LORD call David’s enemies to account.” (and we do that now) 17 And Jonathan had David reaffirm his oath out of love for him, because he loved him as he loved himself.” 1 Sam 20:16-17

I want to reaffirm that today. As Australians, we renew our covenant with Israel and we extend it to the Jewish people of Australia. We stand with you no matter what the cost. We love you.

Rahab and Ruth were Gentiles accepted into the Jewish family who even became the ancestors of King David. Today as we stand against antisemitism and the forces of evil that have come against the Jewish community in Australia and around the world, I believe we are standing in the footsteps of Ruth and Naomi and in our hearts would say with Ruth 1:16-17

… “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.”

This is love. This is commitment. Am Yisrael Chai! The nation of Israel lives! The people of Israel live!

PRESS RELEASE INDIGENOUS FRIENDS OF ISRAEL RE JOSH FRYDENBERG PROGRAM 30.5.24

Indigenous Friends of Israel co-founders Norman and Barbara Miller have applauded Tuesday night’s Sky News documentary Never Again: The Fight Against Antisemitism hosted by former federal treasurer Josh Frydenberg. The Millers say, “The Never Again documentary was a defining moment for Australia when a number of prominent Australian leaders called out the alarming rise of antisemitism in Australia.”

“These included former Prime Ministers John Howard and Julia Gillard, the current Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Opposition Leader, Peter Dutton, a former Governor-General, Sir Peter Cosgrove, Denis Richardson, the former Director-General of Security for Australia, Catholic Archbishop Peter Comensoli and former Aboriginal ALP senator and Olympian Nova Peris.

“What is happening on our streets and in our universities with pro-Hamas protests is unAustralian and we need social cohesion, not division. We don’t want ethnic or religious conflicts from overseas threatening the multicultural fabric of our nation.

“As a network of Indigenous Australians, we support the view that the Jewish people are Indigenous to Israel, having had a presence of 4,000 years there and that the rebirth of the state of Israel in 1948 was a matter of decolonization not occupation. Arab Israelis interviewed on the Never Again documentary attested to Israel not being an apartheid state. READ MORE

Reconciliation Week 27 May – June 3

Reconciliation Australia website admits that this came from a Christian initiative:

‘National Reconciliation Week (NRW) started as the Week of Prayer for Reconciliation in 1993 (the International Year of the World’s Indigenous Peoples) and was supported by Australia’s major faith communities.

In 1996, the Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation launched Australia’s first National Reconciliation Week. (Norman and Barbara attended the National Reconciliation Convention in Melbourne.)

In 2001, Reconciliation Australia was established to continue to provide national leadership on reconciliation.

In the same year, approximately 300,000 people walked across Sydney Harbour Bridge as part of National Reconciliation Week and subsequently across bridges in cities and towns to show their support for reconciliation.

Today, National Reconciliation Week is celebrated in workplaces, schools, and early learning services, community organisations and groups, and by individuals Australia-wide.”

26 May – National Sorry Day, officially the National Day of Healing, is an event held annually commemorating the Stolen Generations or children removed from their families
27 May – The successful 1967 referendum giving Indigenous people the right to be counted in the census and the federal government to make legislation for them.
3 June – anniversary of the 1992 High Court Mabo decision that recognized native title.

REGISTER HERE FOR SPECIAL EVENT IN SYDNEY

On 29 November, 1947, a 2000-year-old dream became reality: A Jewish State was born anew in its ancient homeland. On that day the UN General Assembly voted on Resolution 181, adopting a plan to partition the British Mandate into two states, one Jewish, and one Arab.

Commemorate this event with the Jewish community in Sydney this Wednesday night. Christians are invited. Norman and Barbara will be among the speakers. We invite you to stand with Israel at this special time. When the legitimacy of the state of Israel is being questioned, we need to remind ourselves of this UN Resolution approving of it in 1947. The international community welcomed Israel to the community of nations. The Jews accepted the proposal and the Arabs didn’t as they have rejected a number of peace plans since then. In the end, it is only God’s peace plan that will work.

Pastors Norman and Barbara Miller will be at the pro-Israel rally on the lawns of Parliament House Canberra on Tuesday 28 November 7-9am. We will then go to Sydney from Wednesday to Friday for meetings there. Please join us and/or keep us in prayer and our loved ones at home. God bless you.

ISRAEL HUMANITARIAN APPEAL
By Centre for International Reconciliation and Peace

Help Israel recover from Oct 7 bloodbath and its aftermath by donating to ministries run by Ps Avi and Chaya Mizrachi of Dugit Ministries Tel Aviv (left) and Ps Howard and Randi Bass of Yeshua’s Inheritance Congregation Beer Sheva.

There are thousands of Jewish people displaced by the terror that occurred on Oct 7 with their homes and communities destroyed. Some of those affected were Holocaust survivors. Many just left with the clothes on their backs and are in need of help. Lives have been turned upside down. It is not safe yet to return and rebuild and probably won’t be for a long time.

For any donation from Australians over $70 AUD, you can receive a copy of Ps Munganbana Norman Miller’s painting of From Mourning into Dancing based on Psalm 30 and Ps Barbara Miller’s book William Cooper, Gentle Warrior: Standing Up for Australian Aborigines and Persecuted Jews. The flier above done for us by our friend Tim Jack, shows you how to donate

We would like those who have journeyed with us over the years to attend the zoom if you can. Whether you can attend or not, please send us a few words of your memories or testimonies and a photo of yourself so that we can make a powerpoint of these. Short video messages are also welcome. Please please send any photos you may have of conferences we’ve hosted that you attended or meetings we spoke at that you attended. We would like to record some of our history.
