AUGUST 19 INDIGENOUS FRIENDS OF ISRAEL INTERNATIONAL ZOOM SEMINAR 7PM AEST

Speakers from left, Dr Sheree Trotter from NZ is Māori (Te Arawa). She earned her PhD in history from the University of Auckland (Thesis: Zionism in New Zealand to 1948). In 2012 she co-founded the Holocaust and Antisemitism Foundation for whom she has interviewed seventy Holocaust survivors. Sheree completed an Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy scholars-in-residence course at University of Oxford in 2023. She is the co-Director of the Indigenous Coalition for Israel and the Indigenous Embassy Jerusalem. 

On the right is Dalia Ayalon Sinclair from Israel with her painting in a recent exhibition there. Her art is influenced by losing family in the Holocaust. She spends part of each year in Australia and organises a yearly conference to commemorate UN Resolution 181 passed in 1947 to divide the British mandate into 2 states one Jewish and one Arab. Norman and Barbara were privileged to speak at that event at the Central Synagogue last year. Dalia is a former SBS journalist who coordinated the Hebrew language program and reported positively on the Christian group Celebration Shalom as part of this.

Kelvin Crombie has just confirmed and is well known to most of you and has an exciting story to tell which will be included in our next newsletter. PRESS RELEASE INDIGENOUS FRIENDS OF ISRAEL INTERNATIONAL 18.7.24 – CALL FOR LIDIA THORPE TO RESIGN

“Poster girl for Hamas, Senator Lidia Thorpe, should resign. Her latest radical chic is a green Hamas-style headband in Arabic drawing attention to her ill-conceived support of their cause,” says Indigenous Friends of Israel International co-founders Norman and Barbara Miller.

“Outrage over her selfie wearing the headband on X led to her removing it yesterday less than 24 hours after posting it. Many complained about her ‘dressing up’ as a terrorist and that it was offensive and divisive, so she apologized saying she was pushing for a ceasefire.

Strangely, the Arabic script on her headband read ‘I love chocolate milk’ with the caption on her post ‘I wholeheartedly support this message. I hope you do too.’

Thorpe is pushing a narrative that the Jewish people are colonizers and occupiers of Israel ignoring the fact that it is their ancient homeland, and they are Indigenous to Israel with a 4,000 year history there.

Many nations invaded and colonized the land of the Jews over thousands of years. Assyrians, Babylonians, Egyptians, Greeks, Byzantines, Arabs, Crusaders, Mamelukes, Ottomans, and Britain to name some of them but there was always a Jewish presence in the land.

When Israel reformed as a modern nation in 1948, it was decolonizing the land which had been a British mandate under the League of Nations which became the United Nations. Australia presided over the vote admitting Israel to the United Nations in 1949.

Hamas is not pushing for a Palestinian state that would include Gaza and the West Bank (Judea and Samaria). It wants the whole of Israel as its maps show and it wants the destruction and removal of the only Jewish state in the world. It also wants the removal of all Jews from the Jewish homeland. This is genocidal and is in the Hamas charter.

About 800,000 Jews were traumatically made refugees from Arab lands in the Middle East in 1948 losing their homes, businesses, jobs, nationalities etc. So, it was not just the Jews of Europe who survived the Holocaust who made Israel home.

Thorpe’s misguided attempt to align the Blak Sovereign Movement with the Palestinian cause is flawed. The Palestinian people are not Indigenous to Israel.

The Jews have never invaded any land in all of history. They simply returned home, joining those who had never left.

Senator Thorpe spoke on Monday at a ‘free Palestine’ rally in Melbourne asserting that the violence in Gaza was like the attempted genocide of Indigenous Australians by European settlers.

There is no comparison here. Yes, Australia was colonized by British settlers and yes there was loss of life despite instructions otherwise by the British crown. Israel instead is defending itself against an invasion and massacre by Hamas on October 7 and trying to ensure that Hamas cannot keep its promise to keep repeating October 7. Also, the captives taken by Hamas in a war crime need to be freed.

It seems dressing up to make a point has form with Lidia Thorpe who arrived in a pro-Palestine dress at the mid-winter parliamentary ball earlier this month with the genocidal phrase ‘from the river to the sea’ embroidered down the front.

A blood-stained look at the bottom of her dress completed the picture. It is time for Senator Thorpe to resign. This was not the platform she was voted in on, having resigned from the Greens last year, supposedly a representative on environmental issues.

’Not my senator,’ many Indigenous and other Australians are saying about Senator Lidia Thorpe.”

DECREES FOR OPEN DOORS IN 2024 by Ps Barbara Miller

There are 9 decrees based on the miracle menorah of Hanukkah and one prayer

  1. I decree that every door and miracle the Lord wants to be opened for me in 2024 will open before me at the right time and right place and all spiritual and physical resistance to my entering will fall and be vanquished.
  2. I decree that I will possess the gates the enemy has been preventing me from entering (Gen 22:17-18) and miracles, signs, and wonders follow me all the days of my life.
  3. I decree I will enter these gates and doors with thanksgiving and praise and the joy of the Lord. (Psalms 100:4-5, Prov 8:34)
  4. I decree that what God has opened, no man or demon in hell can shut. I walk through these doors in faith and for the glory of God. (Rev 3:7-10)
  5. I decree an increase in my spiritual discernment so I will know which doors or gates the Lord is opening to me and I will avoid trapdoors and false paths.
  6. I decree that fear, confusion, false vision, and false teaching will not enter with me through the doors God is opening.
  7. I decree I will enter the doors the Lord is opening for me with clean hands and a pure heart (Psalm 24)
  8. I decree I will answer when the Lord opens a door in heaven and calls on me to come up here and show me great and mighty things and His plans for the future. (Jer 33:3, Rev 4:1-2). I call myself blessed to come into a place of intimacy and hear the Lord’s heart. Help me Lord to listen carefully and change me from glory to glory.
  9. I decree that I will extend my hands to receive the gift of the keys of David from the Lord and I will rebuild the Tabernacle of David as the Lord directs me for His glory. Sealed with the signet ring of the Lord Jesus Christ, Yeshua Ha Mashiach

On Sept 11 2001 (911), the Lord told me to raise the Tabernacle of David as an answer to terrorism (Amos 9:11-15)

It may be time for the hunters again and some Australians have prepared safe places to hide Jews for their safety.

Jeremiah 16:15-15 “but, ‘The Lord lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north and from all the lands where He had driven them.’ For I will bring them back into their land which I gave to their fathers.

“Behold, I will send for many fishermen,” says the Lord, “and they shall fish them, and afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.”

Australia Day – Survival to Revival & Invasion to Transformation.

“People travelled from all over Australia to Melbourne for the Australia Day prayer to break covenant with the rainbow serpent and recovenant Australia to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and of our Lord Jesus Christ. We also raised up prayer at the same time in many towns in Australia with prayer points we had prepared to pray in unison.

Why did we hold this prayer meeting? Norman and I were asked to lead a seminar on “the role of indigenous people in bringing the kingdom of God to Australia” to be presented at the 080808 conference organised by Hiliary Moroney in Canberra last year. In preparing, the Lord showed me that the key strategy was to hold a prayer meeting on Australia Day each year to break covenant with the rainbow serpent and recovenant the nation to the Lord.

We had dealt with it significantly in the past in prayer on the Sydney Harbour Bridge in early 2001 because it had been flashed over the bridge in New Years Eve fireworks and in our Healing the People Healing the Land conference at Uluru in July 2005 and on other occasions. As we left Uluru in our buses, two people looked back and took photos of Uluru. When they looked at their images later, the rainbow serpent with its head cut off and its eggs was leaving the rock. It could not be seen in the natural but was caught on camera.

As Uluru is believed to be its lair, wasn’t that the end of it? One problem is that Aboriginal people and others continue to worship it and feed it so that is why the Lord has given us this assignment to raise up these Australia Day prayer events and it is a long term prayer strategy that will gather support.”

Yarrabah 2010

Norman said that the rain was a sign of blessing. He said that before our July conference, “The Glory is Mine” in Cairns, he saw a hand so he watched and waited like Habbakuk. As we humble ourselves and repent, God will hear us. 2 Chron 7:14. I saw the hand of God with the letters PRAY. The Lord said to me to call a prayer rally. I said yes, Lord where? Then I realised it was at Yarrabah – P-Prayer, R-Rally, A-at, Y-Yarrabah. He then gave me the date – 26 Jan 2010- Australia Day.

You know what that date means to many Aboriginal people. Some years ago, I hesitated to celebrate this day too because it’s a day that celebrates colonisation etc. But things are beginning to turn. Gen 50:20 – what the enemy meant for wrong, God is turning it around for the good.

Canberra 2019

SPIRITUALLY GOVERNING
Barbara shared 2 sessions on Jan 25 – one on Spiritual Government and one on Turning the Boat of this Nation Around. In Nov 18, the Lord gave me the first as a prayer strategy and the second as a vision. The prayer strategy is that we need to set up a shadow spiritual ministry just as the opposition political party does in the natural. Prayer leaders would each take a ministry to pray for and there are 31 besides the PM plus assistant ministers.

The idea is to bring a shift to godly values in our nation. The government of the nations is on the shoulders of Jesus or Yeshua and therefore on our shoulders (Isaiah 9:6-7). So, we as the church, the body of Christ, need to be spiritual governors. We need to rule and reign from heavenly places. Eph 3:10 tells us that: “His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,” so we need to be more intentional about this.  It is not aimed to be an activist group. This will take some time to set up and we are reaching out to prayer leaders to participate and those who would be in prayer teams.

The Lord spoke to Norman when we hosted a Sons of Abraham conference in Israel in 2017 to set up a GAP Network – Gathering Apostolic Prophetic Network. It is based on Ezekiel 22:30 where God looked for a man to stand in the gap for Israel so He would not have to punish it but He found none. We need this for Australia and it will dovetail with the spiritual government we are setting up.

Canberra 2020

After the worship, Barbara commissioned angels to take their place, released a prophetic word for Australia for 2020, made decrees and shared about a spiritual shadow government they had set up after the Australia Day Prayer last year. 

Colonisation
Norman represented the Indigenous people of Australia and spoke of the hurts of colonisation. He said the Lord had given him Genesis 26, the first book of the Bible for January 26, the first month of the year which is Australia Day and we need to overcome conflict and strife and make room in this nation to live together just as Abraham and then Isaac made a treaty with the King of the Philistines.

Captain Cook
It is the 250th anniversary of Captain Cook mapping the east coast of Australia and claiming it for the UK. He said there was conflict at Botany Bay (now Sydney) and Cook forced his way ashore and wounded an Aboriginal man.

First Act of Reconciliation in Australia 1770
He then travelled north along the east coast in 1770 to what is now called Cooktown and he would not share the turtles they caught with the Aboriginal people so there was a fight. Captain Cook wounded an Aboriginal man and as they ran, he kept their spears. Then an Aboriginal elder came forward with the tip of his spear broken off in an act of reconciliation, the first one in Australia, and Cook gave the spears back.

Norman showed us a painting he had done of Captain Cook. He said that Dutchman Willem Janszoon was the first European to set foot on Australia at Mapoon, not Cook, and Barbara had written 2 books about it. Norman declared a jubilee because it was 5 jubilees since Cook came and 5 is the number of grace so this is time of restoration of the land and people and a time of grace.

Norman also explained that Australia Day commemorates the arrival of the first fleet from Britain and the setting up of the colony of NSW (and Australia) so Aborigines call it Survival Day or Invasion Day but he calls it from Survival to Revival and from Invasion to Transformation.

Governor Arthur Philip
Norman stood in the gap for his tribe and Aborigines generally and called for acceptance and understanding from the Australians. Ps Norman shared that Governor Philip had named Manly because he thought Aborigines looked manly. He was friendly with some but was speared in the shoulder by one after a misunderstanding.

Norman shared he had prophetically removed the spear from Gov Phillip in England on a Reconciliation Tour in 1998. He did it again now, using a real spear he and Glen had made. Norman was also prophetically pulling the spear or wounds out of white Australians with British heritage at the same time.

Glen represented Australian Torres Strait Islanders, the other Indigenous group in Australia, and said that they would stand with Ps Norman and the Australian Aborigines and they respect that Torres Strait Islanders are on Aboriginal land. They are a family who love each other in the Lord.

Glen presented Norman with a wooden turtle, traditional food in the Torres Strait, as a reconciliation gesture on behalf of their people groups.

INDIGENOUS FRIENDS OF ISRAEL & TABERNACLE OF DAVID CAIRNS CONFERENCE

We were very blessed to have Ps Avi and Chaya Mizrachi and their family – daughter Devora, 2 grandchildren and nephew Eden and niece Linoy for our Indigenous Friends of Israel and Tabernacle of David Cairns conference 18-20 August. They came from ministering in the Solomon Islands. It was a very anointed conference and we were all so blessed. This was just 2 weeks after Ps Norman and Barbara had hosted a Church and Cultural Challenges conference in Canberra. 

We were also blessed to have David and Carol Jack come from Melbourne and for David to video both conferences. He is still working on these but in the meantime, we have a few not-so-professional videos of the Cairns conference for you to look at on YouTube. We started with a Shabbat meal and ended with an amazing prophetic act of the tribes aligning themselves with the tribe of Judah and Israel. These are not available as yet.

This photo was sent to Barbara by an Egyptian intercessor concerned at the Australian government’s decision to use Hamas terminology that the West Bank (which includes East Jerusalem) and Gaza are “occupied territories” rather than Australia’s previous position that they were “disputed territories.” Hamas, a terrorist organisation, is hailing this decision. It is also inaccurate in that Israel pulled out of Gaza many years ago. This decision was made a few days prior to the National ALP conference in exchange for the Socialist Left’s support of the AUKUS defence agreement. 

We believe the timing of our conference was strategic in that it was the same timing as the National ALP Conference in Brisbane. Barbara spoke about this in her message (available in the next newsletter) and made a decree of reversal of their policy. The Southern Cross Alliance for Israel (SCAFI) also put a press release out on 15 August signed off by John Lockwood and 30 mostly Christian organisations with some Jewish. David Jack did the leg work on it to get agreement on the wording. Our Centre for International Reconciliation and Peace and Indigenous Friends of Israel are 2 of the signatories.

The ALP has long had a position to recognize Palestine as a state though it doesn’t meet the requirements internationally recognized for a state. There was a push at this conference to recognize Palestine as a state immediately. However, after some debate, it was decided that the status quo would remain. 

Indigenous Friends of Israel had a meeting after the conference of state and city coordinators so we are stretching the tent pegs as in Isaiah 54 so if you are interested, please let us know. This is a specially made drum/tambourine that was given by the Mizrachis to the Millers. We will get more information for you and a closer-up photo in another newsletter.

I’m looking forward to the conference in July! In my session, I’ll be presenting a perspective on what I see happening within our culture in regard to our children and young people — a battle for their very souls.

There is a term known as ‘the fog of war’ and it refers to the situation when a military suddenly finds itself in a battle where they have no idea of the location and capability of the enemy, nor the location and capabilities of friendlies. The solution to this is to quickly gather intelligence so that you know what to do. Intelligence reduces the ‘fog of war’—it helps to sort out the truth.

My goal is to provide some valuable intelligence for the spiritual battle that has been intensifying rapidly to equip Christian leaders and parents to fight for our children.

Shavuot, or the Feast of Weeks, is a major Jewish holiday and Biblical feast that occurs on the sixth day of the Hebrew month of Sivan. In the Bible, Shavuot marked the wheat harvest in the Land of Israel. It is celebrated worldwide by Jews and Christians who are aware of the Jewish roots of the Christian faith. This year it is celebrated from sundown 25 May 2023 – sundown 27 May. As well as celebrating it in our Tabernacle of David on Sat 27 May at 4pm, Norman and Barbara will be sharing by zoom for the Pentecost Sunday service for Ps Jack Yeo and Emmanuel Blessings Christian Centre in Sydney with their service starting at 9.30am. The Israeli Ambassador will then come to Cairns and we are involved along with SCAFI, Bridges for Peace , and other Christian ministries that support Israel, in this event in our role as the founders of the Centre for International Reconciliation and Peace and the founders of the Indigenous Friends of Israel. Ps Barbara Miller also had a vision – I saw shifting sands and I sensed it was the Middle East. Then I saw the Australian desert and more shifting sands and then tumbleweed being blown along by the wind. I then saw a whirlwind. Then the vision changed to the Pool of Bethesda where the angel was stirring the water for healing as in John 5:4. I sensed that a change is coming and it fitted in with the word that Norman brought.

SHOFAR, MENORAHS & 2 SILVER TRUMPETS

We praise the Lord for His many blessings. Norman and Thomas blow the shofar before every service we have on Saturdays and Thomas with either Judy or Debbii blow the 2 silver trumpets on special occasions. The Hannukah menorah is not on this table but 2 other menorahs are, along with a conch shell, and a small ark of the covenant is behind the grapes. There is also a white crown just behind the candle holder. This table was not set up in any particular way and I couldn’t resist taking a photo with my phone as I walked past it. So much here precious to us and the Lord. There is also a 25 there which lights up. We used it to celebrate 25 years of ministry last year.

HEALING THE COMMONWEALTH

You may remember that at the Healing the Commonwealth prayer event on 27.6.22, prayer leaders from Britain and the Commonwealth nations joined together in a time of fresh repentance and forgiveness for how the UK treated commonwealth nations. Norman was asked, along with other nations, to share testimonies of past reconciliation events between Britain and Australia that we have been involved with since 1997. All continents were represented in the 27.6.22 event. Brian Pickering of the Australian Prayer Network lead the 1999 Reconciliation Tour of England by the Australian team and spoke before Norman. Norman and Barbara were part of the team that went to England in 1999. Before that, they hosted an international conference on reconciliation in Cairns, Australia in 1998 at which Brian and the British team, led by Brian Mills, spoke. The Millers were also involved in the 2 Chron 7:14 prayer event led by Ps Ben Gray and Brian Pickering in Uluru in 1999.

An anointed follow-up event called Blessing the Commonwealth was held by the World Prayer Centre in Birmingham, England before the Commonwealth Games which is currently being held there. We could not be there but joined with Malaysian and Indonesian pastors and intercessors the same day.

Praying for Revival in Borneo & Releasing Healing from the Commonwealth over Malaysia by Pastors Norman & Barbara Miller. The Millers were invited to  join Malaysian and Indonesian Christians and lead a session 16.7.22. Norman is Aboriginal Australian but has some Malay heritage.

Right, 2012 – Kevin Russell and Uncle Boydie (William Cooper’s family) and Norman Miller leading a march from William Cooper’s old home in Footscray to the Melbourne CBD where the German consulate was in 1938. It was a re-enactment of the protest by William Cooper and the Australian Aborigines’ League re Kristallnacht, the start of the Holocaust. Abe Schwarz, the Melbourne Holocaust Museum and Barbara Miller organised the event. It coincided with the launch of Barbara’s book called Wiliam Cooper, Gentle Warrior.

Fifteen years later, in 1955, the date changed to the first Sunday in July and became known as National Aborigines Day. In 1957, the National Aborigines Day Observance Committee (NADOC) was formed whose goal was to promote awareness of Aboriginal people, their cultures and their plight. In 1989, the title changed to NAIDOC Week to include Torres Strait Islanders in the national celebrations. So, we owe it to William Cooper who got the ball rolling.

STREET MUSIC AND BREAD MINISTRY – REVIVAL IS COMING

Norman has been worshipping on the Cairns Esplanade now 3 nights a week for 5 years and has seen people renew their faith, dance in the streets, pour out wine or throw away packets of cigarettes. God is impacting the city of Cairns and tourists through this ministry. Videos of him singing are being shared around the world and touching unknown lives. The bread ministry continues to bless the needy as well. 

Norman is also an Aboriginal artist and is donating a large painting to Rosie’s Friends on the Street who feed the homeless. They are fundraising for a new van. His father Barclay had a great heart for the homeless and would receive calls in the middle of the night from homeless people who needed food or blankets and he would always get up and help out from his own cupboard. Norman does art and culture workshops at Catholic schools where he can share scripture and pray. He recently did one for teachers at St Gerard Majella school around the campfire. He also does art workshops for children for different organisations.
