Timeline of Ministry, A Summary
We want to thank our ministry team of Ps Shirley Miller, Deborah and Lillian Miller, Colleen Burfitt, Thomas and Judy Miller and Joanne Radke for their huge dedication and anointed ministry. They are worshippers and prayer warriors. Ps Shirley Miller has led up prayer for many of our conferences and services, Ps Shirley also preaches when Norman and Barbara travel and all the ministry team share leading communion. Colleen Burfitt is our creative ministries director and Thomas Miller and Colleen Burfitt lead the praise and worship on weekend services with Norman song leading at conferences and the rest of our ministry team joining the worship team. Deborah Miller looks after our overhead projector and Judy Miller looks after our sound. All help with organization. Being the Tabernacle of David, worship is an important part of our services and we often have extended free worship as led by the Holy Spirit.
We also thank those who joined us from time to time and helped out e.g. office volunteers Pam Wordham, Cheryl Weiden, Sue Willetts and Jane Michail. Sarah Kenny Pascoe and Marian Millard from PNG, Roger Wall, Doreen Burness, Brad and Kim Hubner, Elizabeth Knudson, Valerie Davies and others were a good support for many years. We appreciate the support of Torres Strait Islanders who were part of our church who attended the Torres Strait Islander prayer meetings we hosted – Wallace Pau, Martina, Rowena Bullio, Kathy Bullio, and Timena Mara who we took to Israel. We also took Ps Aiden Pensio from Darnley Is to Israel with us and many groups from Yarrabah Aboriginal community over the years with the support of Fr Les Baird.
A special thanks to David Jack and Sonia Harriman for videoing our conferences and Tim Jack for updating our website. David also did our logos and most of our conference brochures. We thank all those who opened their homes to us to enable us to minister in their city. It is not possible to thank everybody but be assured, we do remember you, and, more importantly, God does.
A special thanks to those who have donated money to the ministry and prayed for us over the years. Dad Barclay Miller, and Mum, donated a ministry van to the church in 1997 which is amazingly still in use and Dad blessed us in many ways till the Lord called him home.
Of course, with our weekly church services, we have done children’s church, baby dedications, adult baptisms, marriages and funerals. We changed our services from Sundays to Saturdays after Purim 2014 and we have had many Friday night Shabbat meals in Norman and Barbara’s home and at our church, especially in earlier years. The following timeline gives you a taste of our ministry.

While Carlos Annacondia, a noted evangelist, was speaking to a huge crowd of people in the pouring rain in the main street of Almolonga, we asked Brian if the APN would partner with our city of Cairns in prayer evangelism. The APN has done this with other Australian cities. It has taken us till 2001 to have our city almost come to the point of making that decision, with Brian speaking to our pastors meeting on March 6 (2001) at our request. He spoke to the pastors of Atherton the following day. The APN’s Prayer Evangelism is similar to the Ed Silvoso model and South American revival but is also based on what the Lord showed Brian and his team was needed in Australia.
