BY Ps Barbara Miller 8.1.2020

2020 will be a turning point for Australia in a number of ways. It is a time to turn away from distractions, to turn away from sin and turn to God. We are at the point of a national crisis because of the bushfires and drought.

But crisis brings opportunity to turn away from things that are not working. To turn away from what displeases God. To turn away from old paths that are leading nowhere. And to turn to the path of righteousness. To turn to a place of intimacy with God.

We are at a crossroads as a nation. We have a choice whether to take a path that leads to death or a path that leads to life. Many are in the valley of decision. We need to pray for them but also to take them by the hand and lead them to Him.

Australia is on the verge of a revival. Eternity will be on the minds of many but they are wandering in the dark not knowing how to grasp eternal life. We need to give them keys. The love of the church at the time of the nation’s greatest need is one key. This is done through practical help and sharing our testimonies.

There are tests ahead for the church in 2020. The church in Australia has been divided on moral issues e.g. same sex marriage, transgender issues, abortion and euthanasia. Some leaders have chosen society’s values over Biblical values. Others have kept Biblical values but been judgemental. We need to speak the truth in love.

This is a call for unity of the church and a return to Biblical values. 2020 is a time for the church to show more moral leadership to the nation and to rise to its calling to be salt and light and not hide its light under a bushel.

Declare and pray into this word and the following scriptures.
