A time of fellowship and thanksgiving at 33 Lake Street, Cairns. BYO meal to share.

Register on Humanitix Choose 16 October, 17 October, or both.

For three decades this ministry has been involved in reconciliation, worship, prayer, teaching, hosting conferences in Parliament House Canberra and overseas, and building relationships locally, nationally and internationally. We are grateful for the many people and ministries God has brought across our path and for the opportunities we have had to serve and build bridges of friendship and reconciliation around the world.

Our anniversary scriptures

“Ask of Me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance.”Psalm 2:8
“You also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”1 Peter 2:5

Together these Scriptures reflect two important aspects of our journey: a heart for the nations, and the building of people and relationships as living stones in God's temple. We have built people and the kingdom rather than a local church, though we do have a local church in Cairns.

Messages of congratulations

Greetings for our 30th anniversary from friends and fellow ministries.

Video greeting from Ruth Webb, Tabernacle of David Bendigo.

Brian Pickering
Brian PickeringNational Coordinator, Australian Prayer Network

It is my great pleasure to have the opportunity to share this message of congratulations to Norman and Barbara on the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of their ministry. It has been my pleasure to walk alongside them over many years, sometimes more closely than at other times, and we have completed many assignments together most notably in the area of prayer and reconciliation. I have always found Norman and Barbara to be totally committed to the call that God has placed on their lives and a blessing to many who have journeyed with them over the years.

30 years is a long time and a testimony to Norman and Barbara’s faithfulness and perseverance and I wish them, and the Tabernacle of David congregation well, both tonight and in the many years of service they have left in them. Their ministry has been prophetic in nature and both encouraging and insightful in practice. Thank you for your care and encouragement over the years. Congratulations Norman and Barbara on achieving this important milestone and my prayer is that your ministry will continue to grow and be impactful for many years to come.

Congratulations on 30 years!

What an incredible milestone and a wonderful testimony to God’s faithfulness over three decades. There’s an interesting biblical pattern around the number 30: Joseph, David, Ezekiel and Jesus each stepped into significant seasons of service and calling around this age.

So perhaps 30 is a fitting moment not only to celebrate all that has been, but to look with anticipation toward what God may yet have ahead. May the years to come bring fresh vision, renewed strength, deeper fruitfulness and new opportunities to serve His purposes, and may the foundation laid over these 30 years continue to bear fruit in ways you could not yet imagine.

So, congratulations on 30 years, and blessings for this next chapter. May there be fresh grace for the journey, and much more fruit to come.

Thirty years of ministry: an overview

Our focus has been on being in and bringing the presence of the Lord, obedience to Him and equipping and releasing others in Australia, Israel, and the nations. We have worked to build the kingdom of God rather than our local church. See our vision statement to see what our calling is and the scriptures that have inspired us.

Israel Ministry

Our ministry to Israel has been woven into our calling from the beginning, reflecting our commitment to prayer for Israel, the Jewish people, and the restoration of Jewish-Gentile relationships. We were the Australian leaders for the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem (DPPJ) raising up prayer events around Australia starting in 2005.

We co-hosted with the All Nations Convocation Jerusalem (ANCJ) and the All Pacific Prayer Assembly (APPA) the Bethany Gate APPA conference in Cairns in 2006 with about 3,000 attendees for the 400th anniversary of de Quiros declaration over the Pacific of the Southland of the Holy Spirit.

We became the leaders of Australia and the Bethany Gate (part of Asia, Pacific and the Middle East with Ps Tom Hess ANCJ dividing the world into 12 prayer gateways. This was from 2005-2012. We took teams to Israel yearly and led the Indigenous Seminar, met with the Knesset, and sat on the international leadership team (ICE).

Through prayer gatherings, the biblical feasts, and prophetic initiatives, we have sought to build understanding, honour Israel's place in God's purposes and encourage reconciliation between Jews and Christians including Arab Christians. We have led initiatives linking Australia's history with Israel, including leading ANZAC Light horse tours to Israel in 2010 and 2017 for the centenary at Beersheba. We presented an apology to Yad Vashem for Australia’s stand at Evian in 1938 when Australia was one of the nations who did not want to take in Jewish refugees from Nazism.

We have celebrated the Jewish or Biblical feasts for almost 30 years. In 2017, we established Indigenous Friends of Israel International which has run monthly seminars for a number of years and written primary school education units to reduce antisemitism and aid social cohesion.

After 12 visits to Israel for conferences or tours, we went in 2025 and gave a giant boomerang Ps Norman made to the Israel government. We also presented the government a Declaration of Support from Pacific Rim nations. We then made a heart-rending visit to the massacre sites of October 7 to Kfar Aza, Be’eri and the Nova Music Festival, a visit for which we were thanked by locals.

Reconciliation Ministry

Reconciliation has been a central thread throughout our 30 years of ministry. Beginning in 1996 and developing through national and international initiatives, our work has addressed historical wounds and relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, Britain and Australia, Jews and Christians, and peoples and nations affected by conflict. We have sought to create opportunities for repentance, forgiveness, listening, healing, and practical action, recognising that genuine reconciliation requires more than words.

Through conferences, public gatherings, prayer journeys, and personal encounters, we have witnessed how acknowledging the past can open pathways towards restored relationships and a different future. Our continuing vision is to see reconciliation lived out in communities, churches, and nations. We were invited by Ps John Chimbambo of Intercessors for Zimbabwe to speak at two reconciliation conferences there and helped bring reconciliation between the Shona and Ndebele tribes.

Reconciliation has infused all the conferences we hosted but one example is the Sons of Abraham conferences we held in Sydney 2015 and 2017 to bring understanding and healing of relationships between Messianic Jews and Christian Arabs including Palestinians.

We produced a video on Acts of Reconciliation Between Australia and Britain covering our involvement with the Australian Prayer Network in healing the wounds of history as the British travelled through Australia saying sorry re Indigenous issues and non-Indigenous issues and we travelled with them through Britain saying, “We forgive you.” We hosted the British team at our International Reconciliation conference in Cairns in 1998. Our ministry travels have even taken us to Jordan and Turkey.

Tabernacle of David Ministry

The Tabernacle of David, the name of our local congregation in Cairns, Australia, has been a foundational expression of our calling since 1996, bringing together worship, prayer, prophetic ministry, and a heart for the nations. Inspired by the biblical picture of David's tabernacle, our vision has been to establish a place where God's presence is welcomed, prayer is sustained, worship is released and people are equipped to fulfil their calling. Over the years, the ministry has grown beyond the walls of a local congregation through prayer networks, relationships, conferences, and ministry initiatives across Australia and internationally.

As well as hosting Tabernacle of David conferences in the Gold Coast and Cairns in 2005, 2015 and 2023, we taught Tabernacle of David workshops in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and the Sunshine Coast in 2018 and later planted the Tabernacle of David congregation in Canberra led by Ps Irwin Ross and Glen Sebasio.

We teach that the Tabernacle of David is not just reestablishing the 24/7 prayer praise and worship of King David’s tabernacle though this is critical but also about reestablishing the nation of Israel and the throne of David in Jerusalem on which Yeshua Hamaschiach will sit in the millennium. It is about the government of God and righteousness and justice. Amos 9:11-15 and Isaiah 16:5.

Revival and Transformation Ministry

Our heart for revival and transformation has been expressed through prayer walking, spiritual mapping, intercession and partnerships with churches and communities seeking God's renewal. We have been inspired both by Ps Shirley Miller who was in the Pinnacle Pocket, north Queensland revival as a child and by the revival in Almolonga, Guatemala which we visited in 1998 and is still in revival. The whole community has been transformed with jails closed, families restored, and miracle-sized crops and prosperity. We also visited the revivals in Toronto in 1997 and Pensacola in 1998. We attended the 65th anniversary of the Pinnacle Pocket revival and prayed to redig the wells there.

We were also inspired by George Otis Jnr’s videos of revivals around the world and brought Ps Vuniani Nakauyaca from the Fiji revival to the Aboriginal communities of Yarrabah and Aurukun to inspire them. We hosted the Redigging the Wells and Transformation conference in Cairns in 2003 bringing together Aboriginal communities who had experienced revival like Elcho Is, Pinnacle Pocket and Yarrabah with the City Transformation movement led by the Australian Prayer Network. Ps Vuniani spoke there for us and also at our Uluru conference in 2005.

Conferences

Conferences have provided important opportunities to gather people, share revelation, build relationships, and equip others for ministry. Across three decades, we have been involved in local, national, and international gatherings addressing reconciliation, prayer, revival, Israel, Indigenous relationships, and the prophetic purposes of God. These gatherings have brought together people from different churches, cultures, and nations, creating space for worship, teaching, testimonies, prayer, and significant encounters with God to encourage participants to carry what they received into their own communities and spheres of influence.

We hosted Psalm 24:7 conferences Opening the Gates to the King of Glory in Cairns 2003, Parliament House Canberra 2004, Uluru 2005, Sydney Opera House 2006, Bendigo and Melbourne 2007, Cairns 2009, and Parliament House Canberra 2010, 2011 and 2012. We were also focused on a prophetic word we received from Jer 1:10 “See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.” So, we were focused on removing through repentance, prayer, spiritual warfare, prophetic acts, and decrees what God wanted removed so that we could open the door to Him in our nation and build and plant His kingdom.

We hosted many other conferences – International Conference on Reconciliation and Peace Cairns 1998, Positioned for Dominion Apostolic Prophetic conference Cairns 2001, Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and Tabernacle of David in the Gold Coast and Cairns 2005, Amos 9:11 Tabernacle of David in Cairns 2015, Purim: The Islands Look to Me in Cairns 2014, Cultural Challenges to the Church Canberra 2023, Indigenous Friends of Israel International and Tabernacle of David Cairns 2023 and others.

Indigenous Ministry

Indigenous relationships and leadership have been integral to our ministry journey. Through Norman and his family’s Aboriginal heritage as members of the Jirrbal, Bar-Barrum and Wadjanbarra Yidinji tribes of North Queensland, our work has included initiatives honouring Indigenous history, culture, spirituality, and leadership without syncretism. We have sought to create opportunities for Indigenous voices to be heard, historical injustices to be acknowledged and relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians to be strengthened. Our involvement has included reconciliation gatherings, prayer initiatives, connections with communities across Cape York and the Torres Strait Islands. We have promoted Indigenous speakers at our conferences, both Australians and international.

Ps Norman and Barbara attended the first World Christian Gathering of Indigenous People in NZ in 1996 and were involved in prophetic acts there with Ps Norman releasing a prophetic word. We spoke at a Reconciliation conference at Sagkeeng reserve, Manitoba run by First Nations Christians and spoke at after events and were interviewed on Christian TV.

We have focused on remembering the contribution of Indigenous Australians to the nation's history like Aboriginal Christian William Cooper and the Indigenous ANZACS. When we hosted the Bethany Gate APPA in Cairns in 2006, we had 600 delegates from PNG alone who attended. We also hosted many government leaders from the Pacific including the President of Vanuatu. We were blessed to lead the Indigenous Track for the All Nations Convocation in Jerusalem for many years and join the Indigenous Embassy Jerusalem in Israel in 2025.

Asia Ministry

Our Asia ministry has developed through relationships with Christian leaders, intercessors, and prayer networks across the region. Through conferences, international prayer gatherings, and prophetic initiatives, we have sought to strengthen connections between Australia and Asian nations, encourage reconciliation and support God's purposes across cultural and national boundaries. Our ministry has included relationships with Malaysian and Singaporean leaders, prayer for Malaysia and Borneo, and opportunities to address historical wounds arising from conflict, including the legacy of the Pacific War. We have spoken at conferences in Thailand etc.

The Tabernacle of David Asia Pacific Prayer Network that we have hosted has provided a further expression of this vision, connecting people through online prayer and shared ministry. The conferences we have hosted over the years have had speakers from Asia including regulars Rev Dr George Annadorai from Singapore and Apostle David Swan from Malaysia. Ps Mathew Kuruvilla from India has spoken at our conferences in Cairns in 2006 and 2007 and we have been blessed with long associations with Ps Jack Yeo of Sydney and Ps Joy and Abraham Tan from Malaysia. Indigenous Taiwanese and Indigenous Malaysians often attend our Australian conferences.

Pacific Ministry

We have been blessed to collaborate with the Pacific prayer movement led by the former Ps Michael Maeliau, Solomon Is, Ps Milo Siilata, NZ, Ps Emmanuel Fave, PNG and now Australia and Ps Enoka Goha, New Caledonia. We attended their conferences in NZ in 2005 and had an opportunity to speak, co-hosted with them in Cairns in 2006, spoke at their conference in PNG in 2007 and led the Bethany Gate team including the Pacific in Israel each year. We joined the Pacific, Ps Tom Hess, Rev George Annadorai and Ps Michael Maeliau in Solomon Is for the launch of the Spice route.

Ps Dora Kua from PNG has regularly brought teams from PNG to our Australian conferences and has been one of our speakers as has Ps Michael Maeliau and former Apostle Raynold Bori from Vanuatu. We were blessed to be speakers at the Vanuatu Prayer Assembly in 2012 and 2013 participating in healing and ministering prophetically with the re-declaration of a redemptive de Quiros declaration. We hosted strategic prayer for the Pacific as well as Asia when hosting the Tabernacle of David Asia Pacific Prayer Network (TODAPP) online.

Australia Day Ministry

Australia Day has been a significant annual opportunity for us to pray for our nation's future, honour its people and seek God's purposes for Australia. Through prayer conferences, national gatherings, and online meetings, we have brought together Christian leaders and intercessors from different states and backgrounds to pray for the nation. Our focus has included Australia's spiritual foundations, Indigenous reconciliation, national leadership, religious freedom, Israel, and Australia's relationships with other nations. We have sought to hold together a love for Australia with an honest acknowledgement of its history, believing that prayer should lead us towards humility, reconciliation, and responsible action.

As there is backlash from some Aboriginal people in the commemoration of Australia Day as they see it as invasion day, it is all the more important for Ps Norman as an Aboriginal Australian to bring healing on this day which he has done in many ways.

Over the years, these gatherings have helped connect people who share a commitment to praying for Australia's future. We have ministered prophetically during this time with many words and visions over the years for Australia Day. We hosted many of these Australia Day prayer conferences in Canberra and Australia Day prayer events in Melbourne, Sydney, Cairns and in our nearest Aboriginal community, Yarrabah. We hosted online during covid.

Apostolic and Prophetic Ministry

Apostolic and prophetic ministry has shaped how we have understood and responded to our calling. Through prayer, prophetic insight, discernment, and practical action, we have sought to move with the Holy Spirit, respond to what we believe God is highlighting and help others identify their own part in the wider vision. Norman was ordained as an apostle and Barbara as a prophet on 9/11 2001 by US Apostle Leon Walters of Christian International, following years of hosting apostolic and prophetic conferences and moving in the prophetic. This was confirmed by Bishop Bill Hamon in Melbourne in 2002. Since they were ordained as pastors in 1996, the apostolic call on their life has been evident in their dealing with wrong foundations and establishing godly foundations.

This ministry has included prophetic actions, messages concerning Australia's destiny, prayer strategies for the nations and the equipping of others for service. We toured Australia with messages on God’s prophetic destiny for Australia. Our guiding pattern has been to receive, nurture, equip and release—helping people grow in their calling without needing to control the work they go on to do.

Prayer Ministry

Prayer has been the foundation underpinning every expression of our ministry. From local prayer gatherings and city prayer-walking to national prayer initiatives and international networks, we have sought to stand in the gap for Australia, Israel, and the nations. Our involvement has included sustained intercession, prayer watches, spiritual mapping, spiritual warfare, decrees, national days of prayer and online gatherings connecting people across borders.

We wrote books in the first few years of our ministry on Prayer walking Cairns, Spiritual Mapping and Reconciliation and Justice. These have not been published for the public but Barbara has been prolific in her writing with books on Decrees and Dangerous Prayers: 7 Steps We Can Use to Change Our Nation or Community, and a Prayer Journal, Bible Study Journal and Sermon Notes Journal. These are available on https://barbara-miller-books.com. Norman, whose Aboriginal name is Munganbana, is also an artist with his own gallery and has used art as gifts to bless other ministries and as prophetic statements.

In 2019, we initiated the Gathering Apostolic Prayer (GAP) based on Ezek 22:30, bringing intercessors together to pray for Australia's national leadership and areas of government responsibility, a shadow spiritual government. This is because we have a governmental anointing which is why Barbara has many prophetic words for government leaders as well. In 2020, the Tabernacle of David Asia Pacific Prayer Network (TODAPP) further extended our prayer connections across the region. Through changing seasons and circumstances, our conviction has remained that prayer is not merely preparation for ministry; prayer is ministry.

Worship Ministry

Worship has been central to our life and calling, providing a way to honour God's presence, unite people across cultures and create space for prayer and ministry. Through congregational worship, special gatherings, international conferences, and the use of instruments such as the didgeridoo and shofar, we have sought to express worship that brings together our love for God, our concern for the nations and our commitment to reconciliation. Worship has often accompanied prophetic prayer and significant moments of repentance, healing, and dedication. We have also sought to encourage others to discover and release their own expressions of worship and service.

Throughout these 30 years, worship has been more than music or a meeting segment—it has been an expression of devotion, a foundation for prayer and an invitation to respond to God's leading. We have written many songs that have come out of prophetic worship and we love to have extended free worship, use flags and banners and dance. We have a DVD called Songs of the Kingdom and have a CD called Reconciliation. We love throne room worship and have often seen angels ascending and descending and our people have often seen Jesus in our worship.
